This last shot looked terrible

Add me to the pile of people who dislike the emphasis on Iron Man.

I'll probably like the movie, but I feel ambivalent about the trailer.

Dunno what it is but something just feels off with the trailer. The first 20 seconds were fantastic and Vulture looks surprisingly good but the rest? Didn't do much for me.

Day 1.

Looks good i guess, except for the fact that Stark is shoehorned into everything related to his origin. Not really down with that at all, takes away the kid genius aspect of Peter.
He already invented the webbing and the shooters. And I'm not sure how Stark is shoehorned into the origin, because Spidey was already operating as a hero before Civil War.

Really underwhelming trailer, never thought I'd say this but I think MCU and Spiderman fatigue has already begun to set in for me.

God that was soooooo good. Agreed though that there was way too much Tony Stark for my liking, but hopefully he ain't in it too much.

Nailed the high school feel.

I thought it was just my friend but it's becoming clear, a lot of people just straight don't like Iron Man. I'm really surprised actually.

He's already dead. It's not an origin story.

I know, the point is that there wasn't some "With Great Power" line that we've all heard 100000x.

We know the origin. Don't need to see it again.

Y'all getting mad Tony is in it need to read Ultimate Spidey before Millar ruined it. Nick Fury was basically what Tony was in this. And it worked great.

Ideally this series of films would be as far removed from the marvel universe as possible. Like at most do stuff like the scene at the start. I'm cool with stark since he's a good fit for parkers personality. Hopefully he's like 10 minutes tops tho.

But for the love of God keep every other avenger far away from this. Just parker/high school/street crimes/big bad guy. That's it.

I get that. But he gave the suit, more or less the name, he's the mentor now, etc. I'm sick of Stark is all. I love RDJ but he's not the only thing that makes the Marvel films good, and I'm not a big fan of developing his character at the expense of getting Peter his own time to shine.

This is Spiderman, Spiderman can sell himself. You don't need to constantly remind people that the other Avengers still exist.

Peter Parker got his powers when he was bit by Tony Stark?

Might as well have.

I hate hate hate the Web Wings so much. I think they're so stupid. Way worse than the mechanical web slinging, which I also hate.

But Keaton's Vulture looks cool at least!

Your opinion is suspect since you love Suicide Squad to death.
That's okay! I'm willing to take that!

Dear Sony

You're Welcome

-Marvel.

Vulture looks better than the lizard, green goblin and electro oh and rhino too.

On second viewing, the trailer does seem pretty underwhelming and cheesy.

...perhaps even cheap? Nothing about this screams blockbuster cinema.

It was a mediocre 1st trailer, so hopefully they get proper editing for future ones.

I think it's more about people just wanting Spidey to have his own spotlight instead of having to share it with Tony so much. We're introduced to MCU Spidey with Stark and that's even being carried over to his first solo movie pretty heavily.

I personally don't mind since it seems like there will be a fall off between the two eventually. I can see why people are getting frustrated with the amount of Stark we're seeing though.

Came to say exactly this. It's fucking Spider-Man, you don't need to bring in Downey Jr to get asses in the seats. Hopefully his screen-time is fairly limited and they just showed him off a lot in the trailers to tell audiences that this is the first Spidey film connected to the MCU.

Other than that, I thought it looked pretty good. Nothing mind-blowing, but I dug it.

I'm thinking this. How else do you connect it? How else can you tell audiences? Every person that's not super into movies (most coworkers) get confused by all of the Marvel stuff and even confuse Marvel/DC up. Putting RDJ on the trailer cements the universe.
