Tag, you're it.
Could it be related to the negative response to Square Enix's game?
As you can see, the dialogue has been changed when the wall-crawler snaps a photo of Avengers Tower. Previously, the hero said, "Avengers Tower, so cool! Too bad they're never around to use it. They're on the west coast or something. Probably surfing."
That was a pretty blatant reference to Marvel's Avengers, a game which follows Earth's Mightiest Heroes as they set up a new base in San Francisco. On the PS5, all Spidey says now is, "Avengers Tower, so cool! Too bad they're never around to use it."
So, why has the reference - which suggested the two stories took place in the same continuity - been removed?
SPIDER-MAN: REMASTERED Removes The Game's Reference To Square Enix's MARVEL'S AVENGERS
The PS4 version of Spider-Man featured a subtle nod to Marvel's Avengers, but that's been completely removed in Spider-Man: Remastered. Could it be related to the negative response to Square Enix's game?
