I recently interviewed Kevin Unangst, who directs Games for Windows, and he was saying Microsoft has learned with games like Gears of War that simply releasing a port a lot later and adding extra content really isn't enough of an incentive to gamers to drive the kind of sales you'd want on a high-profile game like that.

On that note, I suspect Mass Effect PC did a lot better than Gears PC, because of the buzz surrounding Demiurge's excellent port job, and Mass Effect PC had less extra content than Gears PC.
Its a bland enough of a rumor to believe. If they called multiplayer I probably wouldn't believe it, but a new video, new level, six axis added, DL content on disc, and slitghlyimproved graphics, Thats very plausible IMO, and its not ever a huge add.bigmakstudios said:That's still just a rumor, guys. Don't get your hopes up.

Wow, first game with the HOME logo on it, in my book that means 2 things, HOME will be out before the game is, and it'll have some integration other then launching the game from HOME. I'm guessing a HOME space.Kazenone said:
I don't have an issue with it. But if it's a strategy--that is, something that is being pursued--I don't think it's a good one. It doesn't personally make any difference to me one way or the other; I own a PC, PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii, so whatever.Replicant said:It's better than not having it coming out at all or having it coming out just as a port. I really appreciate it if Sony actually willing to do this. Why do you have issue with it when Sony doesn't even have problem with it? Protecting your stock? I doubt it.

Hope it's not $60 though, unless we're getting a Big Daddy figure or something.
matticus said:Hmmm ... I'm starting to think Home is going to have a fairly large presence at Sony's E3
Eh, thats alright I guess. I paid $60 for Oblivion last July and I wasn't let down.Kagari said:It's $60 according to retailers right now.
If it is $60 that had better be some really compelling extra contentGeoramA said:The extra content and trophies makes this a day 1.

This brings up an interesting discussion of what to do with timed exclusive ports:Kagari said:It's $60 according to retailers right now.

1.) Release at $60, but add new content
2.) Release at $30-$40, straight port
3.) Release at $60, straight port
Lot's of trade-offs involved in these, I wonder how companies determine which will be the most profitable course of action.

Kinda doubt it since it's on the official website.Xyphie said:Isn't that boxart the mock-up the SDF site did like 1 year ago? :lol

The very same one is on Digital Extremes website. The mock up made by SDF.gregor7777 said:Isn't that the game's original release boxart?
All that's added is the strip on the left and the home logo.
Probably just a coincidence.

The thing is we don't even know if the HOME logo is legit or not, we don't even know if games will have that logo, since SDF came up with it way before Bioshock PS3 was announced. So DigitalExtremes using that cover art is very odd.gregor7777 said:What I meant was, if you take the original boxart (from the 360 version), add the strip which is on every PS3 game, add the Home logo and you have the new boxart.
Really the only question is the Home logo placement, but that's the place I would have put it too.
It's not like it's custom art or something.
