Splatoon 2 Testfire Thread: This is a port...able game now

Tried a match in handheld mode. The aiming felt a little less responsive than I remember, but I still had fun. Maybe my aim sensitivity was turned up higher on Wii U?

Gyro felt fine but admittedly a tad annoying when your controller is also the screen, lol.

I'm excited! Hope the single player is fun again, too. :D

Completely DISAGREE. The X button map is terrible.

We need a mini map option. A basic map in the lower left showing area covered by each team.

Anyway, my team won. No disconnects, match went fine. But did I mention how much I HATE the X button map?

It's probably an intentional decision like it was on the Wii U. If you have a minimap, you can see when people are behind you inking while also looking at the screen, which would massively change the game.

In the Wii U game, you're not supposed to be able to look at the screen and map at the same time. And I expect that hasn't changed.

"A communications error occurred,"
"A communications error occurred,"
"A communications error occurred,"

FUCK! Just let me finish one game!

Got a game in at work and nobody knew I was playing haha, this automaticly makes the Switch a great console, would not have been able to play if it wasnt a portable console.

Too bad my team sucked we lost but I came in first on the team

No notable connection issues or problems finding games? I feel like I remember some downtime during the first Testfire for Splatoon.

Yo this game is fresh as fuiuuck

I'm sitting here on my bed on this tiny screen playing and its still Hella fresh

Gonna try with the pro controller

Played a game, it's good fun, really struggling to Switch from Xbox buttons to ninty buttons....Took 5 goes at my network password because all the buttons are rotated by 90 degrees.

Seems a fun little shooter, imagine team play can get pretty involving.

As a newbie to this, the painting mechanic is great because you feel like you're helping the team all the time, you don't HSVE to win the paint fights. The guns seen quite differentiated and I'm sure people could "play their class".

I'd enjoy it a lot more if the buttons made sense.

There's also a learning curve on the gyro controls. Having left right look on the stick and gyro up/down takes some getting used to...

Motion controls work best as a way of fine tuning aiming. I'm not a fan of not being able to look and down at all with the thumbsticks.
This!! If they implemented this I'd probably stick with them. But the motion control controls are terrible normally. Motion tuning with only right stick x axis is so jarring.

It's gonna stay that way.
