Splatoon 2 Testfire Thread: This is a port...able game now

Tried everything in the hour and all the weapons and ultimates were really fun to use.

Even the roller kit was a great time and I didn't care for the rollers at all in Splatoon 1. Baiting someone into chasing you from behind then slamming on top of them
1.0

As expected this will be a day 1 buy for me.

Sucks that just as I was getting used to the controls and do8ng decently that it was over. Still, good stuff. By the way I remember seeing in a trailer that you can shoot the roller vertically. How do you do that?

The game felt great for me only problem is they need a button that re-centers the motion controls (someone tell me if they have it hopefully they do) other than that i had alot of fun. Also did you guys know you could control the music a little bit while you're in loby?

Japanese players pls stop wrecking me. Lol

I'm like the only guy who stays behind and covers the home turf while everybody else runs off to fight.

Handheld mode feels like holding a Wii U gamepad. The spacing of the joycons feel like home. And split joycons felt natural with the right one doing the aiming.

So far the grip feels cramped. Maybe I'm not used to the spacing while playing heavy gyro aiming as my right hand feels like pulling my left hand lol. Either split joycon or pro controller for me.

No idea what the fuck is wrong with my Switch. Won't connect to internet, so I removed saved settings, re-connected to router, it said it worked, so I loaded up Splatoon 2 again and no internet connection again.

This happened to me too. Hold the power button on the top left corner of the Switch for 15 seconds for a hard reboot and try again.

Y reorientates you.

I want to like this franchise it's just never happening. Competitive territory games just do nothing for me and even with other modes it's still a huge part of the game.

Only had one error all hour. Turned off gyro just to see but no, coming from a heavy PC background, I abhor analog stick aiming. Gyro stays on, just like in the first game.

The trick is to use them both. Stick for wider movements, gyro for tighter precision.

I kept hitting the map button in matches and absolutely hated the motion controls. I had very little room to maneuver my console in portable mode. I can see it's uses in more practical environments.

Round one's over for me. One win and one loss, but I've enjoyed every precious minute I was able to play. Hope the 11 pm one is a little bit smoother.

Well, played the whole hour and my hype is now through the roof.

- The textures are stunning - real upgrade
- The colours really pop on the Switch screen
- The HD rumble is subtle but immersive
- New stages and music have such effortless universal cool, I love the world they've built
- I came top of my team every match

I def pressed X instinctively trying to jump for a few matches. duelies are cool, the dodge roll is next level. Ults seem to be not necessarily end-all be-alls. I like that. Maps were quality, and the music continues to be top tier. I'm just leaving it on the title screen because I love this new main theme so much.

first hour was joy con grip. I want to get back in the tutorial and try freehand split joycon. That's my BotW preferred method, but having some WiiU gamepad muscle memory still from Splatoon the first, I wanted a close approximation to that

things felt right. good stuff

2nd extra game hahahaha.

1st win too! :D

can understand the love for this game. wish it was coming sooner... or they do another server test in the meantime!
