My initial post was intended to be facetious. Some MGS4 fanboys then got defensive. I don't trust Ubi Soft so I won't judge this game until it gets reviewed.BlueTsunami said:No where did I reference to my like for the Metal Gear Solid series. You doing that is very telling also, it shows that you came into this thread with the sole purpose of inciting a MGS vs SC thread.
Great job

go see MGS4 E3 teasier trailer and how Kojima makes fun of SC

I'd expect developers to take jabs at each other when competing in the same genre but there is absolutely no logical reason for fanboys to do so. Both franchises sell well and will continue to do so so there's no threat of discontinuation. I just find these types of things childish is all. For once I'd like to enter into either an MGS or SC thread without requiring popcorn but that's just me.llTll said:how do u want them to co exist if the developers it self go against each other ?

now excuse me if developers are that agressive. what do you expect from the fans?
another thing. everyone is waiting for SC on xbox 360 screens to compare it to MGS4. thats like a fact. they want to compare graphics power and all that shit.
so just get pop corn and dont get pissed off.

The developers aren't competing though. They've both stated that they love having the other one around because it gives them competition and ways to improve. Kojima even referenced SC when he was asked why he bothered to implement the 3rd person view, IIRC.llTll said:how do u want them to co exist if the developers it self go against each other ?

They both take jabs at each other for fun... I don't think there's any hostility whatsoever. Even in the Snake vs Monkey shit in MGS3, Snake was like, "Ugh, I want my vacation! Can't you get Sam or Gabe to do this?" SC's original 'cutscene' on the game said something like "You see, unlike a lot of these other spies you hear about, I'm actually real."
it's all fun.

This really isn't impressive at all and doesn't even begin to approach MGS4.
Snake's glove has more detail than wife-beater wearing Sam Fisher.

I worry if the team might be too ambitious for their own good, though. And is this really coming out in the Spring? I would be very surprised if this wasn't delayed until the end of 2006.
