Spoilers that have ruined games on you

I was browsing the Red Dead Redemption FB group a day after the launch and someone spoiled the ending for everyone to see.
That was fucking awful thing to do.

The Last of Us.
I checking out random gameplay video and someone put up the ending under a gameplay title, I wasn't sure what I was watching until the credits started rolling.

Haven't gotten the game because of this.

Wow. I would scream. Both great games.

Back when Heavy Rain was released some asshole on the game's review page (can't remember which site, probably IGN) posted who the Killer was with the first comment. Completely ruined the game on me, which was a shame as I really liked it.

Was wondering what spoiler horror stories other GAFfers may have.

I got victimized by this, too! It was GameTrailers' review for Heavy Rain. Some asshat posted who the killer was, which really pissed me off. :(

While I was playing Ace Attorney Investigations 2 when it first came out, I really loved the Cornered theme, so I went to youtube to listen to it.

And over in the related videos to the right was "Last killer breakdown SPOILERS!!" with the killer shown clear as day right in the thumbnail. Why?? Why would you do that??

Funny enough, a "spoiler" about Heavy Rain actually threw me off the trail for the twist. Basically, I had read a comment on a forum that said
"Jason is the Origami Killer!"
Having played Indigo Prophecy I was waiting for some weird and crazy thing to happen resulting in that fake spoiler.
And then I found out who did it and rolled my eyes since he killed someone while you were controlling him, but they conveniently cut that part out of the segment while you are there.

I also had Heavy Rain spoiled for me, but by my friend. He grabbed the box and told me one of the four of them was the killer, all while pointing straight at the killer and smiling like an asshole. Pretty much ruined the experience for me.

Well I know the game is several years old, but I still haven't gotten around to playing it yet. Thanks, I guess.

I saw the Heavy Rain spoilers before I had a chance to play the game, trying to work toward solving a mystery I knew the answer to made it an unenjoyable experience.

To be fair though, I probably would've hated the game either way.

Normally you'd be able to see the subtle clues leading to it if you knew who the killer was before hand, but HR didn't have many.

Persona 4 is even worse and doesn't have any up until right before you solve it.

Scott Shelby the detective is the origami killer from
Heavy Rain. This was spoiled across youtube comments and places alike. Glad I was on a total internet blackout until I beat the game.

Can someone tell me how big a plot twist story-wise is
Shulk being a robot
in Xenoblade Chronicles? Someone also tossed it out of left field in a random thread and my freaking brain won't let go off that detail. Still yet to play the game, it's part of my backlog :/

That's not really a spoiler at all, because its not true.

Heart of the Swarm ending leak.
Why didn't they change it after it was leaked.

I don't know how to do spoilers properly.
Good thing I know all about the game before clicking an unlabeled spoiler!

Heavy Rain is the only one that comes to mind. I was browsing an image board and it was blatantly posted to incite reaction. I was able to psyche myself out of it a little by constantntly telling myself that it probably wasn't true. Sure enough, it most definitely was. I wouldn't say the experience was completely ruined though, as I did get quite a bit of enjoyment out of the game.

MAJOR PERSONA 3 SPOILERS:

Someone on Youtube spoiled that the main protag dies at the end of the game. Ruined the ending for me but I still very liked the game.

Also, Red Dead ending from so many places ruined that.
Haha, oh man I am not too bright. Went "how shocking could it be?" I never beat P3, probably would have gone back to it at some point, and this caught me completely off guard.

Oh well.

Xenoblade chronicles

Fiora comes back to life

I didn't have this one directly spoiled for me, but I figured it out from the Xenoblade OT here.
Everybody put spoiler tags around the last character's name, or referred to her as '7th.' It was obvious to me that the last character must be somebody met early on but not expected to be playable, and Fiora fit that description the best.

Channel 4 ruined Shadow of the Colossus for me. There was a video game related program on and they flat out told me what happens at the end. Even tv isn't safe.

Had Red Dead ending ruined on the internet. Lost all impact, but Red Dead Redemption is still my favourite game of all time.

Some asshole in the comments section in a Kotaku article regarding MGS4 which was still like a week away from launch revealed something big that happened in the ending
mainly that Big Boss was alive and would appear in it.
I wanted to skin him alive.

I'm amazed that Beyond: 2 Souls hasn't been spoiled on me yet. I knew it would be a but risky to wait for the PS4 version

I don't get it. Maybe I'm misremembering, but I thought it was no secret at all that the protagonist of MGS3 wasn't Solid Snake, since it's set in the 60's. How would the eyepatch be a spoiler?

It really wasn't that big of a deal. I just wasn't expecting that part of Big Boss' saga to play out in the game and I'd rather have experienced it with no expectations.

Glad I don't care about this spoiler because how would I know whether to click on the or not?

Heavy Rain... an asshole spoiled who was the killer in a forum a week before the release... Just cause a web posted a walktrough guide before the game was even out...

I pretty much know the whole plot of Spec Ops: The Line

I tried to play it anyways about a year ago, but the game kept crashing to desktop at a certain point. May try again

Bioshock Infinite. Someone spoiled
Comstock's and Elizabeth's identities and relationship
for me.

Felt like shit for a few days.
