Spoilertagged images don't work on Mobile GAF, please don't post them in OT's

Yeah, those still work for me. Hm.

I don't think I've noticed any problems before. Test:

(not a spoiler)

I just checked on my iPhone 6 (iOS 8.3), the first of these was hidden, second one wasn't.

Also, I have show .gifs turned to off, but have fairly frequently seen .gifs. May have something to do with the number of .gifs in the threads?

I wouldn't know about that one. I know I've encountered links in spoiler tags but never really tracked if it was everything but images.

Speaking of links in spoiler tags, I wish there was something outside of the obfuscation to indicate that it is a link, taping on it expecting to reveal a message but instead have opened up a new tab or switched to YouTube or some other app is really annoying.

Spoiler tag has never worked for images on mobile. It only works if you have show images/gifs set to off.

Spoiler tags work for me on both text and images for in in desktop and mobile mode, running W10.

Doesn't work for me either.

BTW, let's stop putting links in spoiler tags. It really annoys me when I tap to reveal a spoilered item on GAF and then suddenly be taken to a website that I had no intention of going to. It's a jerk thing to do.

Ah, I've figured it out. On mobile I have "Show GIFS" and "Show Photos" set to off to preserve data, so images only load when I click on these buttons:

hence why spoiler tagging works. Interesting.

Didn't realize I could do this. I guess I'll just set gifs and images off from now on thanks

Android Opera user. Text and gifs are hidden but images are shows. I have gifs set to 'off' in preferences but not images. Setting images off and loading each one individually would be annoying

Hmm, those images in this thread aren't spoiler tagged at all for me so I guess it's not working for me either. I'm using Firefox on an Android Galaxy S5.

Oh, so you've had this issue for awhile? I thought it just started.

I've noticed people complaining about this (rightfully so) for a while now. I don't see why it's a problem to just not use spoiler tags with images and use a spoiler warning with an image link instead.

I think spoiler tagged images make the page look shitty anyways. I just hate them. Plus it requires more clicks to see the picture instead of just clicking a link because I click the spoiler line for the picture, which then highlights the picture, then I gotta click away from the picture so I can see it unhighlighted. If it's a quoted image then it I gotta click on it again so it gets enlarged and this sometimes respoilers it and *Benny Hill music instead of just middle clicking a link.

I think the best way for spoiler tagging to be done is where there's like... a tray where text and images can be hidden and there's that "Click Here to Reveal" thing. I don't know how those work on mobile, though.

....you can spoiler tag images??

Tells you that I spend 90% of my GAF time on mobile. I've probably seen tons of images that were tagged and had no idea.

Yeah got spoiled in ds3 thread yesterday with a pretty big spoiler he says ist isn't what I think it is but it blatantly was.

Xperia Z3 on chrome.

This has always been a problem, it's been like this since the feature was introduced.
I was whining in the initial thread for spoilered images.

I know. I posted it in the thread, but it's far from ideal, because most images and gifs aren't really spoilery.

you have to do a lot of things that are far from ideal if you want to avoid spoilers 100%. stop caring about spoilers or go out of your way to avoid them.

pics and gifs off doesn't mean you can't see them, it means you see a "view photo" button and when you click on it it will show you said pic. It also saves you MB if you click on a thread with huge ass gifs in it.

I remember bringing this up and basically just got shrugged shoulders as a response. It's a cool idea, but there's gotta be a way to make it work with mobile. If you go through the effort of adding something, why not go all the way with it?
