I hate Square for a variety of reasons but the mismanagement of the Nier series takes the cake. They could fuck off all the way to hell and I wouldn't shed a tear.

I like a lot of Square's games, but the way they treat their lower tier franchises is pretty rough. I'm pretty sure a lot of people don't even know The World Ends With You Neo exists, because it got zero marketing

It barely needs a remaster, because what makes it great isn't the visuals, and the soundtrack remains top-quality.

Oh, it would. Just not by bureaucratic, sanitized and corporatized pubs like Square Enix. They got no courage and interest in making such games. That would be something I'd imagine old school Squaresoft would've taken a bet on.

Yoko Taro + Platinum was such a good combo.
They complemented each other so well, Yoko Taro brought the cool stories and unique ideas that are often missing from Platinum games, and Platinum made a good feeling game with fun combat which is usually missing from Yoko Taro games.

Square should have tried to keeping them working together.
Instead they got Platinum to make Babylon's Fall and Yoko Taro has spent the last 10 years making mobile games and indie tier game.
