Wouldn't imagine it to be too far off from when Type-0 comes out anyhow. Seems similar to other games like Wolfenstein where that came with a code for the Doom 4 beta and that doesn't have a date either as far as I understand.
Doesn't bother me though. I'm really looking forward to Type-0 and the FFXV demo will come when it comes; at least the demo is confirmed and a trailer was shown for the game to reiterate that it exists and is in development. FFXIV is awesome and keeps getting great updates so I'm not exactly starved for content in my favorite series. (Not like I was with the wait from FFVI to FFVII which sucked and felt like forever despite being around only 3 years or so.)

I strongly suspect that this game still won't be released come 2017. I've had another look at the last trailer, and even trailers before that, and while it shows what looks to be a good bit of gameplay, I still get the feeling that there's largely no game at all. They just have all these assets - most of which was probably created when it was still intended as a PS3 only release - and they're still trying to build up from that foundation with no clear overall plan of execution to guide it towards completion.

Well....we know the game DOES exist if the TGS trailer was anything to go by, so.....I think we will see the demo come out the latest May/June :l.
They are finally showing proper gameplay of the game and they must have gotten a lot of positivity due to doing SOMETHING with FFXV, so they won't mess the game up with further delays going forward.
My bet is that the demo might come out day-one in the JP version of Type 0 HD and a month latter in US/EU (for translation purposes I think).

I'm getting excited for Type-0 HD so that can tied me over, but my concern is with XV in general. If the demo takes a while to come out then the game likely takes longer to release. I'm tired of waiting.
How do you mess up on the messaging for this:
-When announced, leave it super vague.
-Incorrectly have someone say it is the day of
-Have to come out and say it's not?
Why not just say it's not day one and not have people asking a basic question from the start?
