Square Enix | e3 Showcase

That was the worst presentation I've seen in a while (I Missed Ubisofts). Absolutely nothing there looked compelling enough for me to buy whatsoever.

Even the two Japanese-created games, Babylon and "CHAOS!!!!" just felt so wrong. Maybe it was the awful English voice acting in both, but even the visuals just looked so very rough, and the visual designs and aesthetics just seemed like they were bland and dull.

Both games (Babylon and CHAOS!!!) felt like they were being forcefully tailored to Western audiences.

I won't even get into the LiS absurdity and the main character from Tumblr

This thread was more fun than any game they showed today, guaranteed.
 
WTF did I just watch? Last year was at the peak of pandemic yet many game studios still managed to bring better stuff to show than most of the developers this year.
 
Now is the question, do we think Capcom and Bamco are going to be better? or is this the standard the third party Japanese developers are going to set for this E3?.
 
The voice acting / translated cheesy dialog ruins so much of what could otherwise be pretty cool games. Mainly thinking about that Team Ninja / FF game

Wish I hadn't watched any of these conferences and just played games instead.

Of all the ways to reimagine final fantasy 1, oh man that was so bad. It looked like a final fantasy 15 DLC pack.

AVENGER's looked good (too bad it is a dead game in terms of MP) but the rest was. . .wow. Dunno if I missed it but I didn't see anything FF16 related. Babylon Fall looks fine (even with the live-service tag) and I'm all on usually on anything Platinum related.

Way too much GotG stuff and it looks like the character designs are suffering the same fate as AVENGER's had at their showing: trying too hard to come close but not too close to the MCU design.

. . .and what a game to close the presentation on. Good god.
 
Why the characters in FF origins have to look this shitty? it's like Nomura pooped those inbetween 2 sessions of work on FF7-2.
 
Yeah that whole Origins trailer was a bit much. Not what I expected. It looks cool, but man they should have reserved the whole aesthetic a bit.
 
That was truly dreadful

Stringing out a half dozen Dragon Quest game announcements for 30 or 40 minutes of real time was a better show than this.

Just good grief I can't imagine how anyone thought that was a good idea.

Well if you were waiting for FF Origins then I suppose that's good news. Platinum as a service is a weird thing. They should have just done a Marvel's stream and soft announcements for the others
 
Looks like they copied PROMPTO, the Captain in XV movie and idk about the other dude … made this a single-player tower dungeon something…. idk.

Because it probably would've ended up as a GRIN situation. The writing wouldn't have been similar enough to FF or some crap.

Seriously. For a second I was question whether that was a FFXV spinoff. They could have something if they would stop mixing their shitty modern designs with the FF universe.
 
Very disappointed with Final Fantasy Origins. Concept sounded awesome but it looked like hot garbage. PS360 graphics and lame DMC- style of gameplay. Fuck this shit.
 
I couldn't be more dissapointed, origins looked like a bargain bin ps2 game and the FF 1-6 collection is only coming to the two platforms that can play those games all ready.
