Assuming that this goes down just like XIII-2's registration did, if you could predict that Square would be so far out of the gourd to do an XIII-3, you should be predicting the stock market.

They could have made a saga out of XII. That was pretty much Star Wars AND it had Balthier. XIII is all style no substance imo

So Final Fantasy XIII-3 = 1st set of trilogy

Then 1 year hiatus of franchise rest = 30 years real time

Then release 2nd set of trilogy

Final Fantasy XIII-4
Final Fantasy XIII-5
Final Fantasy XIII-6

Then 5 year hiatus of rest = 150 years real time

"ReMastered Versions"...with new scenes, some edits

Ha! Seriously though, I can't wait to see the reception of XIII-2 though. Personally I loved FFXIII despite its shortcomings. Not so sure about this sequel though.

The cover even looks like Star Wars for fuck's sake! Some day I will take over Square Enix and make nothing but XII rehashes because it's what the world needs. Oh, and another Einhander.

How is FFXII Star Wars? People say this all the time without backing it up. The game's plot isn't anything like Star Wars or is the universe.
 
It may be weird for the FF series but whats with all the crying? I thought people were totally in love with trilogies this generation o.o? Is it just cause FFXIII was bad or cause it wasn't announced as a trilogy from the start?
 
It is quite feasible that it is Final Fantasy XIII Versus as I remember Tetsuya the characters were supposed to overlap, and wouldn't elaborate when, but they were in the same universe, with the same values. They haven't overlapped yet. So maybe Versus is the third episode in the series, originally intended to be the second episode, but it never happened because of space issues.


Remember, XIII was supposed to be a 100GB game. So they probably cut it in-half.
 
say what? they plan on making another before Versus?

I'll take it though if it's Vita-exclusive :D

If Square is actually considering XIII-3, I would watch the actual length of XIII-2 like a hawk. Watch the game be good, but like 20 hours long and ends on a cliffhanger.

FF Versus XIII has about as much to do with FFXIII as FF1-12 do. Nothing of importance.
 
Haha. So this is what the "Fabula Nova Crystallis" project really is! But seriously, if they really make another direct sequel, that would be freaking insane. Then again, I don't think anyone wanted the sequel to FFIV so they're good at giving us what we don't really want. However, a FFXIII-3 "interquel/alternative story" with Cid or even ol' Bart as the main character and you hunting down the original FFXIII protaganists I would welcome.

That means Special Edition where Vaan is "digitally removed" and Basch becomes the main character? Which I would welcome.
 
GAF's been on a roll lately with their Square Enix game predictions. :o

If XIII-2 is good and this would provide more world detail and interesting gameplay ideas, I don't mind. Would rather see XV happen after XIII-2 and Versus, however.
