Square Enix: Should Moogles be in Final Fantasy XV? [Up: Will Be In]

What kind of DLC would you like to see Moogles in?

An this is the real difference between Nomura's Final Fantasy and Tabata's Final Fantasy.

Nomura would either add moogles or not depending on if he felt they'd feel organic in the world and they could complement the story. His Final Fantasy XV was one with artistic integrity.

Tabata's Final Fantasy XV is a product to be sold. He's a businessman, not a creator. Asking us questions like "Should moogles be in" spits in the face of all artists and developers in the world who are worth giving a damn about. Imagine if Naughty Dog asked us to decide if Chloe should be in the game, and then they said don't worry about the story, we'll find a way to cram her in.

This sours me on the game greatly.

This is not marketing. My grandmother could do better marketing than what they're doing right now.

This is absolutely social media marketing. They're asking something that will get people interact, retweet and even post to NeoGAF. And people are falling for it, just like the stupid rock post.

Who though putting such a poll was a good idea. I personally don't care either way but looking at some of the responses it's annoying people.

Yep.

I still think it makes them look bad though

Isn't marketing supposed to have a positive effect on the image of your product?

I'm not gonna argue whether this is good or bad marketing, but they seem to be getting a lot of engagement from the post, which is exactly what they want.

I liked Mog back in the day. I liked the Moogles in FFIX, because they fit into the world well.

I haven't much cared for them in any other entries though, and shoehorning them in if they don't fit the world (and it doesn't seem like they would) is just silly. Not every "traditional" element of FF needs to be in every game. That way lies madness.

No one's finished Heavensward ITT...

I have! I personally don't get the criticism of the moogles in the story.. if they weren't giving you all those quests then some other characters would be so I'm not sure why they deserve so much hate.

I thought they were charming and endearing.

I mean, who would say no, without having some giant rant about how prolific it would be if Square was, "ditching the past and welcoming a new era of FF."

it's just a dumb Twitter thing...nothing to freak out about.

It's not just this twit. If you've been following this game's development especially since Tabata took over, you'd know the hell's happening to this game. The marketing team is a big part of the shit storm that's gathered around this title since then.

So is the game coming out in another 10 years? We hope maybe to have airships. Oh do you guys want moogles? Who is running this shit show?

you need twitter to vote? lol
if i can vote i'll vote for yes

I didn't mind them either, but I am pretty sure the general Moogle hate stemming from HW is the reason they are asking the question lol

Been on it since 2006. I stopped freaking out around 2009 about every little detail...

Did you forget that Nomura was absolutely silent for years when this game was Versus? It wasn't exactly all peachy back then either.

You guys talk as if this whole project hasn't been, from the get go, a very very difficult and long development hurdle.

---------------------------

Poll is almost entirely going FOR Moogles to appear in the game it seems. Take that how you will.

Moogles should be in every FF game, to some extent.

I could do without the "...., kupo" after every sentence in the english localization though.

A Final Fantasy without Moogle isn't a Final Fantasy at all.
I hope you're not talking about non-gimmick/cameo roles. Where were they in FFVII besides the mini-game at Gold Saucer, a Moogle riding on the Chocobo summon and, I guess, Cait Sith's design? Where in FFVIII besides the PocketStation-feature no one used. Where in FFX besides the Moogle dolls as Lulu's weapons? Where in FFX-2 besides the one costume.

Those were all just small cameos or easter-eggs. Episode Duscae had Moogle dolls, too, in one of the trucks. Is that enough for you for it to be a legit appearance? :P

FFXV legitimately has one of the worst marketing campaign (probably IS the worst in history if we factor in the dark days of Versus XIII) among AAA titles.

I'll be genuinely surprised if the game does turn out well.

Let's not confuse a shitty marketing with a shitty game. If you can say anything about a game's marketing is that it has zero correlation whatsoever to game quality. I remain optimistic about the game. Can't justify the marketing though.

Nomura's FFXV was great yeah? When did that release again?

Hate to break it to ya, but both Nomura and Tabata are making games for profit. I get that its annoying they keep doing things that suggest they have no idea where they intend to take the game so late in development, but there's really not a whole lot to judge the game on except for Duscae, so drawing too much from a tweet is probably not a great idea.

Oh my god.... please stop with this nonsense, are they for real asking us this question?

Seriously, this is what worries me. Don't they have a vision for this game? Why are they asking us this stuff?

They should know the answer already, but the people managing that Twitter account have a job to do and sometimes you just have to post dumb crap to keep the feed alive when there's not anything substantial to show.

It's targeted for the average Final Fantasy fan who eat it up, not for GAF to analyze the development process.

They ask that question and the game is supposed to release in the next year ? Seems odd to me but then again what do I know.

All of the hand-wringing over this is absurd. It's a twitter poll.
A fucking twitter poll.

No this isn't a serious question.

It's a cute little stunt to encourage user engagement via social media. It was probably posted by an intern. If this upsets you, you need to take a step back.

"Should our Final Fantasy game be a Final Fantasy game?"

Might as well say no since it already doesn't feel like one. Having to even ask about something like this is really troublesome.

If Square Enix needs me to tell them the answer to this question, then this game truly is in trouble.

I'm not gonna tell them anything. I wanna see them do it.
