Square Enix: Should Moogles be in Final Fantasy XV? [Up: Will Be In]

What kind of DLC would you like to see Moogles in?

All of the hand-wringing over this is absurd. It's a twitter poll.
A fucking twitter poll.

No this isn't a serious question.

It's a cute little stunt to encourage user engagement via social media. It was probably posted by an intern. If this upsets you, you need to take a step back.

I'm glad someone understands.

Mmmmmmmmmmmoooo my gohd

This is stupid. They should make the game they want to make. Good lord. FF1, 2, 4, 8 didn't have Moogles; 7 only had them in a cameo role, 13 only in the sequel, and 10 only as a fictional creature there were plush toys of rather than a 'real' thing. They're not a requirement. The constant obsession with feedback goes beyond what I'd consider positive use of the fanbase and just makes it look like they have no vision, or worse they're not confident in their vision - which I really hope isn't true.
This.

They aren't going to decide if mogs are in or out based on this. Its just a harmless way to remind people about the game

Dammit intern!

Nah, not upset. I just think it's silly.

I don't know, on one hand they are a FF icon like Chocobos and whatnot and it's nice to have them, plus they where already in, in some form; on the other one, if it originally wasn't planned makes them feel a little forced.

Though, i would say, it would be just a small fan-service, don't see what's wrong with it.

Maybe they could even be related to some quests, Moogle village in LR was nice.

Exactly...

Square Enix's strategy seems to be: Act like everything is impossible; hopefully blow everyone away at release when nothing was impossible. I voted no for Moogles because I hate them.

of course it needs to have moogles. I mean, even KH has them... But really, it doesn;t matter, just do what ever. I prefer moogles and chocobos in my FF games though, lol.

No one's finished Heavensward ITT...

The Moogle shit in Heavensward is so overblown it's ridiculous, it's like this major whine point when it's 30 minutes of cutesy fetch quests. I didn't even know it was a complaint until reading forums after I had finished the campaign. Honestly this is what people chose to complain about in an MMO that has zero customization, almost no gear and pretty much a complete lack of an end game. XIV was solid enough for what it was but man... such a bizarre community.

My XIV bitching and moaning aside, while I'd like Final Fantasy games to actually contain Final Fantasy trappings I don't really care what they do at this point. Just make a decent offline Final Fantasy game for a change. If you have a vision (it really doesn't seem like it) then just stick to it. Everything they do with this game lately comes across as really misguided PR. It's cool to engage your fans but it's all so hollow.

Spoilers:

Everything is actually impossible

Rocks? No
Cities? No
Airships? Hell no

Anyone who cares enough to vote is the kind of guy to say yes so they're just looking to gain some goodwill by claiming it was added in response to feedback. Smart move

Can't they make this game by themself ? I didn't like FFXIII but I appreciated that the creators made choices and imposed their vision to tell their story (and they backpedaled in the sequel, trying to please everyone).

Have balls, Tabata. But is this man really a creator ? He seems more to be Square-Enix new yes-man to me.

After FFXIV had us meticulously search for moogles using a colorless rudimentary map that doesn't convey elevation, moogles can fuck right off as far as I'm concerned.

30 minutes?

Sir.

This is dumb. Just makes me think that they had Moogles the entire time, but wanted to show that they're listening to fans or some stupid thing like that. Same thing that happened with Episode Duscae 2.0.

I don't even know why. But hey, it gets people talking about the game.

I liked Moogles in IX the most. They fit into the world so well. Also their design was in IX was perfect don't like the modern moogle.

FFX didn't really have moogles and it was fine

Prompto could have a moogle plush in his tent or something

EDIT: Or a moogle keychain on the car keys

This right here.

I can't wait for the next poll:

"Should FFXV have graphics or be a text adventure?"

It wouldn't surprise me if that were a serious question after the development cycle of this damn game.

Ok... now this 'fan feedback' aspect if FFXV is finally starting to bug me. I mean, we should be potentially a year or less from final release, no?

I wish the production team for this game would have a solid vision and stick to it. Step away from 'fans' and make your damn game.
Why can't they just ask themselves:

-Do moogles have a place in XV's world?
-Can you give them a place in the world without it feeling forced?

If the answer to both is "no", just don't do it. It's not going to ruin the game.
Either that or find a creative way to add them. FFVII used a summon cameo and a silly arcade game. FFVIII used a mini-game and a Triple Triad card. FFX used a doll-weapon. Moogles didn't have to be prominent in those games, but they were still there as a wink & nod to longtime fans.

They should also have a radio drama in this game where you find out that Final Fantasy X is a prequel to Final Fantasy VII and we would have come the full circle. Balamb Network radio statio (because FFXV is actually a sequel to Final Fantasy VIII).

Final Fantasy I did fine without them.

So Final Fantasy is not a Final Fantasy

Final Fantasy I-V are now no longer Games in the series?

Clearly I was talking about contemporary Final Fantasy and not first entries that are older than many people posting in the thread. And to my knowledge they've had at the minimum a cameo in every entry since III besides IV.

Unless you count Lulu's doll.

Those were all just small cameos or easter-eggs. Episode Duscae had Moogle dolls, too, in one of the trucks. Is that enough for you for it to be a legit appearance? :P

I count a cameo. So yes, Lulu's doll in X, and then X-2 where Yuna dresses in a Moogle suit. Also I don't consider FF7 to be a cameo when you get one as a team mate (even if it's a doll) as well as a summon.

Jesus this is a little PR stunt some folks are so gullible.. They just want to engage with the community this has probably been decided and they will continue asking such questions and we'll get the same reactions:

" omg this game never coming out"
"They don't know what they're doing"
"They're not confident in their product"

Sigh..

Yep, but I still wouldn't mind seeing moogles and I don't think that'll compromise their vision to have some easter egg or throw back.

Moogles should run a traveling circus and follow Noctis' crew wherever they go. At each new town the player visits, he gets to see some new plays or tricks from the Moogles.

We've heard you loud and clear! You want Moogles in XV! Due to this choice, we have to delay the game into 2018. We would have been able to release this game early 2016, but now, thanks to your creative decisions, we're going to have to work a little longer to match YOUR vision. And Remember, this is your fau- choice!

It seems like they do not want to include Moogles in the game and I kinda feel the same way because it would look out of place in FFXV. They really shouldn't ask the fans because overwhelming amount of people will say 'yes' anyway.

If there's ever been a time to mass revolt in the official forums then that time is now.

also XIIIs moogles were gawd awful. IX da best

It could just be a cameo, like a gps Moogle on the car screen or just a little toy hanging in the car.

Can't you understand why, though?
It's not like they haven't had a 'focus group' feeling to the FFXV development since they started the ATB Reports.
There's a legitimate reason people are starting to feel this way, regardless of this being a 'PR stunt' or not.
