The game is love it or hate it for some people. I wouldn't really take any single opinion on it as paramount.

I'm going to say I fucking love it, but that's obvious and I'm biased. I'm also half-decent at the game so the death pits on some courses ain't shit to me.

I think $40 is a great price for anyone who's curious.

I find the death pits most annoying in races. On Survive It events I'm usually going slowly so they don't keep coming out of nowhere, and on Trick It events if I go into one there's enough time to rewind out of it and the point penalty is not that bad.

But if you're trying to get a gold medal or set any kind of time in a Race It event, a death pit means you have to restart, and that takes 15 seconds on the PS3. In races I wish instead of infinite useless rewinds, they gave you a single rewind that actually rewound the other racers, too.

Fun game, worth $40. Might want to buy an extra controller though as you're apt to break one out of frustration - parts of this game SUCK.

i can't believe ssx dropped before syndicate. makes me feel much better about picking up syndicate at launch and passing on ssx. think i may just go get ssx here in a bit.

This is kinda sad...this industry just sucks. The game received a lot of good scores and would probably appeal to a lot of people...I hope it isn't that big of a bomba, so we can see more franchise revivals like Mirror's Edge 2 in the future.

I feel you on that, but as it is, I can't and won't recommend this game at full price. There's just too many negatives for that. For instance, I thought I'd give Japan another go, but it's just so damn frustrating. I keep telling myself it'll get better, but all those damn death pits that you don't see coming that just ruin any chance for getting any sort of flow going on just pisses me right off. You're already constantly bouncing around and hitting the ceiling every other jump in those damn caves. Not to mention that the dead zone on the PS3 controller stick is getting on my nerves lately. I had to back away and cool off for a bit. Argh.

I still find it weird when 33% off the RRP of a game means it has bombed! In the UK, only a handful of games can't be found for less than 50% of the RRP the month after launch (Nintendo 1st party titles notwithstanding)

Where in the world do you live? The only explanation for this weird observation I can think of is that you live in an area of the world where snow and winter sports don’t exist. SSX is probably this years best selling game so far in my region (Norway).. It was sold out everywhere the release weekend. And Syndicate..? Now that’s a bomba.

When ever a game I want launches, I feel a little bad about not being there Day 1 to support the developers. But then I remember I'm broke and prices being slashed in half after a month are so common these days. Glad I waited.

I wouldn't say ruined it. Hurt it, definitely. I'd say about half the tracks in the game are ones I have no interest playing again. Fortunately that still leaves a lot of good ones.

Bought this game day 1. Don't care if people hate it, my friends and I are having a blast playing it and we're still discovering new routes and locations and such.

Definitely worth the full value to me, and absolutely worth $40 so for anyone who hasn't jumped on board yet should do so now.
