Let me share a few of my screenshot:

scale? we are still stuck in the same Stanton system (the video you showed is not in the game) and limited to 50 players. also the fps is tied to the network health of server..completely bonkers

It sure is on another scale, when it comes to not showing that much in almost 10 years. Visually is impressive, but when it comes to everything else, it's a jack of all trades, master of none.
The project lacks focus, at this point they are just creeping in more features, and more ways to get money from backers.

People say that publishers are bad, and sure, they can ruin many projects, but they can also make a project stay in it's track, without losing sight of what it should be, and be released on a decent timeframe.

How long will people defend this? A friend of mine paid almost 3k to back this game, and all he got in all these years is a glorified techdemo.

There's no release date for the campaign, much less for the online component.

This game has been in production for 1/3 of my life... that's really something that shouldnt happen.

Know what else has all the things the OP mentions? The Unreal Asset store, call me when there's a game to play attached to these things like any normal person.

BF2042 crashed more today then Star Citizen. In fact, SC didn't had a crash for days on my PC and the performance is great. A lot of people here are straight up lying. Live builds are mostly stable, the PTU patches are the onces that mostly have crashes due to unoptimized features and monitoring tools running in the background.

You don't really have much more to say than this do you?
I've posted videos of me playing Star Citizen on here before and it going absolutely stupid with bugs lol.
Also here's my experience with Battlefield 2042 this week, here's a spoiler - I got a refund, too bad it's past that point with my Star Citizen purchase lol.

but if you like we can reinstall Star Citizen tonight and play live, let's see how stable it is lol.
Edit: Heres a hilarious video of my starter ship having a mind of its own lol...I wonder if I spent a few grand on another one if the bugs would disappear.

Them NPCs lol:

The game can be a pretty screenshot maker every now and then, but thats about it.

Less of a scam than BF 2042, Cyberpunk and Mass Effect Andromeda, at least this game seems to work, seeing from all the videos of actual gameplay that people like to ignore. Though still no functional Ai LOL

good thing you can't see its running with 5fps

Correct as a virtual photographer, i do not need high fps when shooting at high resolution (8k) in the heat of the moment. The game itself is running between 35/90fps on my pc. Inside cities it is between 35/60 and outside it can reach 90fps for me.

Everyone encounters bugs, you are not the only one after all. Besides, if you started backing/playing Star Citizen thinking you'd get a fully polished game, you've already gone into this with the wrong mindset. Also, you can just report your findings/bugs via the issue council. Look for it if it has already been reported and otherwise create a report. I don't need videos of people who want to prove that there are bugs, because we know that.

It's about the thought process behind it.

AI works, but is not fully implemented. AI for missions do work great at outposts/bunkers atm. At stations, planet side cities etc, they not always do something. Still has to do with the servers. Advanced AI (subsumption AI) is being worked on for SQ42, SC has basic AI only for missions they are better atm.

I wanted to show this part for SQ42 atm (video is from back in 2019):

nice tech demo but the shooting section doesn't look fun at all and not just because it runs with 15fps. i don't even understand why the game needs these fps sections and planets. i get it from a financial perspective, selling these pipe dreams via tech demos has been very successful for CR but from a perspective of someone who was looking forward to a new wing commander game 10 years ago... why? if walking around was restricted to your ship and the rest was just space fighting and trading the game would have been out by now and probably be more fun but nope

Try X4: Rebirth, Elite Dangerous and many many other games. [I love Elite btw]

Vast majority of the backers for this project dream of something so much more than those games. They dream about penta A quality space MMO and that is precisely why they sink vast sums into this. They don't have to, but they don't see any other way this type of game will be ever made. EA and all ther other big studios never showed any interest whatsoever in releasing anything even remotely this complicated, impressive, dreamy.

All initial backers who were unsatisfied with the new direction the project was taking had all the time in the world to pull out. They were literally given refund dedicated page on official forums. I understand the frustration if you wanted something simple, but good thing there are many games for you out already.

The positional audio at times is fucking insane as well.

Can't track back some of the best videos about it I've seen, but here's a random one:

This thread is like stating the obvious. Game has had $400 million pumped into it and has been in development before Game of Thrones started. What other PC game can you suggest with that time and budget?
But still it's about another 5 years out. Enough time to milk more money and show some visual enhancements.....

JFC, if their own hardware is struggling to run the game smoothly, then how the hell is anyone supposed to run it :|

Anyway, my opinion on SC has always been this: I'll believe it when what they keep showing us in these videos is out and able to played smoothly.

Every single time I watch an SC video on YT - at any any year - the game always looked less amazing than what they're showing, and runs far jankier than shown.

The problem with an MMO game like SC, is that no matter how realistic you make it look, if it's played online with others you're undoubtedly going to have jank, lag, and immersion breaking habits from other players.

This game would have sold on me hard if it was a single player game first, and online second.

That is a fucking lie. I am a backer since 2014 and in the evocati testing group. I have a 3090 FE and each patch performance gets worse and worse. Last night it ran with 5fps on New Babbage in Microtech.

Actually runs better than elden ring

The true horror is that your fps is affected by how fast the server is responding. That's right, after 9 years of development they have a system that has network IO affect your rig's render loop... in a free aim shooting game... that is supposed to be an MMO one day with 100+ player battles. When was the last time you have seen game design that brilliant?

Any day now, any day...

At least the Soviet soldiers of the 62nd Army in Stalingrad eventually did get what they were promised.

Speaking of shooting game. Whatever happened to their "Theatres of War" mode that was coming out "within a few months", a couple of years back?

I play Star Citizen sometimes. I haven't seen anything touch it in the graphics dept. I already enjoy the alpha more than some "retail" games.

This is funny because i experienced the same thing. I played DayZ when it just was a mod for Arma 2. I have never enjoyed something with others more then in this game. It was so immersive to play with a group.

Your 3090 isn't doing much. The game is not GPU limited but CPU limited. An Org mate also experienced what you had last night, but me and others didn't, so there must be something wrong with your installation, drives or whatever. Try to delete the shader folder of whatever.

Calling me a liar is pretty easy lol.... and for your info i'm also a Evocati member.

Stuck in development hell like everything else in this project. The fact that they are investing resources to create some seperate game mode tells everything you need to now. The development is in hamster wheel and they don't know how to solve most of the major blockers. So they are already creating spinoffs with the same assets to somehow create an illusion of content.

The only thing that's always on time and runs smooth is ship sales.
