you mean something major like the infinity gauntlet

Something major on a personal level. I couldn't care less about the try-hard plotting that neglects character motivation beyond "we should probably save the galaxy."

Every JRPG ever has killed my interest in those stories.

edit: Well, this is an awful TOTP. Sorry :/

well they do live in it

I want Thanos to lay the smack down on everyone.
What's funny is that Thanos could solo damn near every Marvel hero that's ever appeared in the MCU at once without the Infinity Gauntlet if my understanding of his base power is correct. Eson and Odin are the only two characters that come to mind that could take him on.

Three pages, people?

Yes, but chances are like most other MCU characters, Thanos will be nerfed to hell and back.

There's just no one that remotely poses a threat Thanos at the moment.

Wasn't the whole point of Infinity War was to have everyone? That's disappointing I may never see Rocket Racoon riding Hulk or Groot having a physiological conversation with Vision.

They should just buff everyone to comic levels. Just give no fucks and go comic book to the Max.

Welllllllll

Marvel is pretty cheap with their actors so the cast budget won't be that excessive if I had to guess.
Won't be surprised if they do give it a higher budget, it's supposed to be the climax of the MCU. (for the old guards at least, I am guessing most from phase 1 won't return in phase 4).

GAF has the bloodlust today. Who's next on the kill list?

Ant-Man
Foggy
Luke Cage
Thor
Gamora
Captain Marvel(for Slayven)
Wanda
Falcon
Hawkeye

OT:
I can't wait to see the Chris trifecta on screen together.

It'd be funny as fuck if no one dies in either part 1 or 2.

And Jessica Jones, which I'm pretty sure that person wouldn't agree with killing..go figure.

Don't Worry, Ninja Scooter covered that in the Defenders thread.

I have a feeling the script will either kill off major side characters, or kill one of the core Avengers and revive them in IW p2.

Marvel can't write around death for IW, someone has to die to give Thanos credibility as a villain.

They'll probably kill Hulk, he's not that important, hasn't had much success in his solo movies and Thanos squashing Hulk like it's nothing would send a signal.

They have to establish that Thanos is one of the biggest, baddest, strongest mofos around. He has to kill 2-3 at least to be credible.

Edit: SchrodingerC already said that.

Great news. I just watched Guardians of the Galaxy again last night, and honestly took it as a given that they would be showing up in Infinity War. Although I hope the rest of the team will be there too, as Groot, Rocket and Drax are all IMO better characters.

That's okay, but please don't include any of the other Marvel losers like Iron Man in GOTG 2 or GOTG 3. Keep them all away! :<

The good thing is that GOTG is "Cosmic Marvel" so it doesn't really have to cross over with the other MCU films until Thanos makes his presence known. It basically goes Earth MCU (Iron Man, Cap, BW, Hawkeye, Hulk for now, BP) -> Human-y Magic Space Marvel (Thor, Hulk in the future, Dr Strange probably, Captain Marvel) -> Cosmic Marvel (GOTG, Dr. Strange probably, Captain Marvel probably). So there's essentially 3 tiers which intertwine, but also exist independent of each other. The post-credits scene from Thor 2 was the only real connection we got from GOTG to the established MCU, and that's completely okay. By the time Infinity War hits we'll have Thor, Captain Marvel, and Dr. Strange (as well as Thanos obviously) connecting the Earth MCU to Cosmic MCU.

Basically, there's no reason to have Iron Man or Captain America show up in GOTG because there are already strings connecting them via other properties. I would not be surprised if GOTG Vol. 2 featured some Dr. Strange and Thor elements to start connecting it even more to the others.

Excellent! Thanks for the info.

I mean, unless GOTG 2 gives him some cool abilities, he seems like a weak person to have up against Thanos. This is still awesome news tho.

In the comics, he and Nova held off Thanos long enough to kill him (until that was retconned).

The only advantage he had over MCU Star-Lord was having a cosmic cube in his pocket.

So kill off one of the strongest Avengers. I wonder what black widow is going to do if she comes face to face with Thanos, use jiu jitsu? or hawkeye, using his cosmic powered arrows? loll
