When are we going to get a Steam release of Final Unity!?!?

The intro sequence is still seared into my brain decades later.

Voyager game looks ace. Hope we get mod support - Gamma Quadrant expansion to point her at the Bajoran wormhole would be sick. Also, shipwide buffs if you keep Harry an ensign pls.

The demo just released!

Feedback from the demo, most people hate that the game has no voice acting. Pretty jarring for a game like this, especially since Elite Force had it in the 90s. Also people are saying that not all of the character likenesses are totally intact (apparently Tom Paris looks totally different than in the show), meaning they probably didn't license the likenesses from the actors.

Still, can't wait to try this for myself.

Make it AO and get me 7 of 9.

I hope one of the earliest choices is to abandon the marque and use the caretaker array to go home. Smash done end credits after 5 mins.

Couldn't help but feel the ghost of Mass Effect crawling around in the vibe of this game. Kind of sad. Definitely going to buy this.

Not every line has to be voice acted but having zero voice acting of any sort, as well as zero music from the series is a valid criticism.
Couldn't those two gaps be filled by AI pretty easily?

Weird that a sci-fi game like Star Trek wouldn't fearlessly push the boundaries of tech.

Apparently yes you can sacrifice the Ocampa and return to the alpha quadrant in the first mission. :messenger_grinning_sweat:

I got an email from Steam about this today! :) Anyway, the demo is out. I haven't tried it yet but going to give it a try very soon!

I tried it and it seems a bit overwhelming at first, but it feels good by the time you get to the second system; wish it had voice acting though.

Seems more involved than i expected, also more interactive.

Seems quite deep actually - this seems to be a very fitting Star Trek experience overall. High hopes after the demo

I hope they're able to license the version of the theme song that had lyrics

I fired up the demo and Tom Paris looks like Tom Paris.

The lack of any voiceovers or the official theme is a damn shame though.
Surely someone will mod in the theme so it's not a huge deal. I've been on the record here with the unpopular opinion that for most games voice acting doesn't add anything. Unfortunate for people who like voice acting but it won't bother me any. On replays it's much nicer to skim text.

This might ultimately be a 'put on my playlist' kind of game anyway.

And most importantly, I'll send crooked Janeway to a Federation prison.

The number of completely stupid decisions she made, the damage she caused — it's insane she got promoted to admiral.

The soundscape on the bridge in particular sounds very empty. Even having faint chatter or comms and more beeps and boops might make it more alive. Pretty sure one of the first mods will be a Voyager theme mod and something to improve the soundscape among other things.

Finally got a chance to play the demo this morning. It's good stuff! The main gameplay loop is a combination of Fallout Shelter-style base-building, very reminiscent of XCOM where you have to like... build a science lab to research upgrades. This is also how you manage ship morale, giving people access to premium replicator rations, better crew quarters, and holodeck time. The other sections are flying around in space collecting resources and encountering one-off dilemmas that give you extra stuff, and the third gameplay sections are away missions that play out like a "choose your own adventure" novel. On away missions, you assign a certain number of "heroes" that have various stats or skills that can be leveled up by taking them on more away missions.

While not in the demo, there are hints of building Borg structures on the ship, having former-Borg crewmates, and research trees for Borg enhancements.

The negatives have already been mentioned here, but a lack of voice acting makes the game feel a lot more flat, and the lack of the theme song makes it feel less "Voyager". I'm guessing that they'll add voice acting to the cut scenes, at the very least. Or at least, I hope so.

I'm really excited for this, day one purchase for me.

I own the Voyager soundtrack CD collection so guess im already set for this. Just put the intro on loop, occasional Year of Hell and 8472 and chuck the Fairhaven disc in the bin

Yikes, prob a no go for me, sadly. I was initially excited, then disappointed, then "oh it's like the alters" and was semi excited again. Now back to disappointed 🤣

Haha this says "official trailer" like the one in the OP, but this is a five minute gameplay video that was just released.

Literally the kind of game I wanted using Star Trek, hope it turns out well.

UI actually replicating the touch-based computer consoles of the Trek instead of going with a more generic slop is also nice.

New gameplay trailer and release date: 18.02.2026

Article:
From the press release:

"Following the demo release, we've taken lots of valuable player feedback on board. This valuable input allows us to refine core gameplay systems even further, polish localization, and add meaningful details – ensuring the journey through the Delta Quadrant will shine when the game launches in early 2026,"
says Daniel Bernard, Game Director at gameXcite.

Jonas Hüsges, COO of Daedalic Entertainment GmbH, shared the following:

"Matching the spirit of Starfleet, we want to bring this adventure to as many of you as possible on day one. The additional time allows us to synchronize all platforms, including the newly added Nintendo Switch 2 version and improve the game on all levels. A unified launch is the right call for a story about a crew that survives by sticking together. We're excited to give fans the best possible voyage home."

Really excited for this. My favorite Trek.
