Star Wars Battlefront II Beta Details and Offline Arcade Mode Info

Just a heads up so no one gets annoyed that they missed the early access window when I post the actual beta thread on October 4th.

If you want to play the beta on October 4th instead of the 6th you'll need to preorder the game before October 1st. Otherwise it's open to everyone on the 6th.

The beta will be on PS4, Xbox 1, and PC.

For PC Players these are the system requirements.

You will be playing Galactic Assault on Theed, Starfighter Assault above Fondor, and Strike on Takodana online in the beta. For you who don't like multiplayer the offline Arcade mode will also be available. Arcade is 10v10 in various objectives offline, in splitscreen on consoles, or online with one friend cooperatively or competitively.

There apparently will be some kind of challenges on each day of the beta, but it's kind of vague and not really important.

Some details on Arcade mode.
Arcade is a new mode allowing you to take on AI enemies and hone your skills across a variety of scenarios. In the beta, you’ll have two options: a 10-on-10 team battle with AI allies and enemies, and a Hero vs. many scenarios where you’ll take control of Darth Maul and fight against legions of foes on Naboo.

The beta will provide a small taste of Arcade on the Theed map, but the full version will have you test your wits and reflexes in all three eras of Star Wars. Teamed up with AI-controlled allies, you’ll arm yourself with your favourite assortment of weapons and abilities, carefully tailoring your loadout for the battle ahead.

In the full release, you’ll be able to bring the Star Cards, weapons, and unlocked abilities from multiplayer with you into Arcade. Apply your favourite fine-tuned hero and class builds against AI opponents and test out new strategies before trying them online. On consoles, you’ll also be able to team up with a friend or battle against one another in split screen versus.

When the game launches you’ll reap valuable rewards for your progress in Arcade. Success will earn in-game credits you can use to unlock Crates and, in turn, gain new Star Cards to further customise your heroes, vehicles, and troopers for both Arcade mode and online multiplayer. And thanks to a series of Challenges, you’ll always have a new goal to strive for and new bonuses to earn.

Arcade battles can be set up and tweaked in a variety of custom configurations so you can change the difficulty, trooper classes used by AI, and more. You’ll also have the opportunity to play a number of Battle Scenarios – specially orchestrated Arcade matches that you’ll be able to face either alone or, in the console version of the game, with a friend.

Will my preorder with GMG count as a preorder or will I need to pre order it via origin?

I emailed GMG and they didn't know the answer :/ Typically GMG keys don't get sent out until the day before actual game release so I'm considering cancelling my GMG preorder and just getting it through Origin directly.

No preordering on amazon since they don’t have physical copies.

I know, it's bizarre. I ended up going digital on PS4. Does anyone know if they will actually send out a code for that, or you will just be able to DL the beta from the store without? I've never done a beta through a PSN pre order before.

Still holding out hope that the 20vs20 Galactic Assault modes will be in arcade or have similar representatives in Arcade mode. I love me some offline Battlefront.

They all running under same engine, don't worry about that and Frostbite is scalable even on lower spec PC's

Nope. But for the final game the Access starts November 10th.

OK. I guess it makes no real difference. I'll try the beta but my thoughts on the previous were very far from positive. I''m going to need to get hands on, read reviews, check Metacritic, ask my friends, watch YT and Twitch streams before I'd even think about giving EA money again.

I'm really bummed by this right now. I'm completely sold on this game, and would preorder RIGHT NOW using my prime - but I really want a physical copy.

Do you still get the 20% discount w/ Prime on digital preorders? Also, is there any chance of physical preorders going up on Amazon? Sorry if this has already been discussed or answered in previous threads.

No code for digital preorders, you'll simply be entitled to download the beta when it's added to the store.

If I preorder the digital version on Amazon will I get a beta code for early access? I usually just preorder and then cancel for betas like this. Can you cancel the digital ones the same as physical?

I'll probably skip the beta since I know I'll be buying it on release so that it feels as fresh as possible. Very excited for the game though.

Also, heads up, EA isn’t offering a physical pre-order on Amazon yet so that the pre-order and cancel trick to get a Beta code won’t work here.

Physical pre-orders will presumably open after the early access period of the Beta.
