Starcraft 2 Beta Finally Ready to Start This Month

I bought new D2 keys at mmo1st last year and no problem yet. MW2 is on a different distribution service so there's no guarantee that will happen with Blizzard games.
 
I'm banking on the fact that I have a POS rig to get me my key. They have to be curious how bottom of the barrel this game can go. :lol

You know, for a while, I thought Blizzard might pass out keys to everyone. But if they're planning a tight turn around, it would make very very very little sense to do that because they may jeopardize sales. I think it'll be fairly random whoever gets in.
 
I'm almost glad it's been pushed forward to now, might have some time to kill this spring without regrets :D Make juice of me!

Lol Blizzard is the most layed back developper I know... can't believe this game has still not shipped... At this rate diablo 3 will be released by 2013... and yes graphics will look horrible compared to everything else out there :(.

Sorry kind of a graphic whore, so D2 for me was complelty ruined by the lack and polish and low resolution it shiped with back in the day. Then again thats just me, gameplay ofcourse is essential, but if the graphics aren't there you lost me. Like I pointed, its an opinion and i'm sure a lot of blizzard fan dont care about gfx... still some do care!

All looked amazing back in the day! there is always a danger in waiting too long and having your game really look horrible compared to everything else. That probably why they are going the cartoon way... somehow cartoons always look good compared to realistic looking gameS, even a few years after release.
 
Midyear release?

Please be true, please be true. Also please be actual midyear release and not midyear September or something. I want this in my bed computer by June.

I actually think I might have a chance of getting picked since I have a mac, and we are a minority, and they need to test us too right? ;D

Mac version won't be ready for the first wave of beta, was confirmed today.

Also, there is apparently no NDA. So if anyone gets in, you should be able to stream it and talk freely about it on boards and what not.

Well a middle-high range laptop.

I dont think i'll get in soon.

But if its anything like the Wotlk beta keys will be flying everywhere by the end.

Bottom of the barrel testing comes around the same time as the stress test. They'll want to ensure that people that get in can actually play the game at the start of the beta. The start is when they're trying to balance the game, closer to the end is when they optimize which will probably be during the stress test (IE. everyone gets in) so they can optimize their matchmaking/B.Net and also optimize for lower end systems.

Diablo II looked fantastic as well, people at the time were just too short sighted to notice cause 'it wasn't 3D'. Which was a smart move, it's one of the very few games of 2000 that I can still bear (and actually enjoy) to look at.
 
How are you notified of the Beta? E-mail to Battle.net connected mail address?

I signed up a while ago for the Mac version.
 
I'm pumped for the beta, but my love for Starcraft has always been in the single player campaign rather than competitive multiplayer, can't wait to get my hands on it!

the game is going to be absolutely huge, expect battle.net to catch up to the likes of steam fast once sc2 and d3 are released.

I'm expecting it to surpass Steam on the day of release.
 
If I get accepted I will sell my account for no less than $10,000 :D

And the beauty of b.net is that it's only Blizzard titles, so they can do whatever the fuck they want with it.
