The shot you posted of Starfox Zero looks like a bullshot, mainly because of the generous amounts of anti-aliasing, a term absent from Platinum Games' vocabulary.

Do you mean that it doesn't look better than a high res Gamecube game or worse than a high res Gamecube game?

Because even though you can tell one from the other, they are not that miles apart visually, especially if you compare it to the Gamecube Rouge Squadron games a page back or two.

And yes, I realize Gamecube couldn't do 1080p and most of the shots are from Dolphin, but I think it's fair to want a current gen system to have substantially better graphics than games that were on a two gen old console even at 60FPS and a high resolution.

Honestly the issue isn't the technology behind the game. It's the game's art direction/overall aesthetics. It's very bad. It's the reason I (along with many others) think the game looks worse than a decent budget cube game. I'ts probably the case that Nintendo is just allocating smaller budgets for it's games atm, and trying to boost profits with amiibo overload.

I can see why. In order for on-foot segments to be as good as Platinum's better games they'd need to be the focus of the game, and not just an alternate occasional thing like the Arwing walker seems to be.

Seriously. People look at a low-res livestream and start screaming its shit. I'm fully expecting to see a trailer show up in a few months that will turn the publics view just like with SM3DW

But really, the gameplay looks smooth, fun and innovative. Gave me all the vibes I could possibly want from a starfox game.

Do I want it to be beautiful as possible? Of course, but it not reaching its potential there doesn't mean its crap

I just remember playing original Starfox and despite the minuscule amount of ploys, I was blown away at the 'graphics' and felt like next gen was upon us.

This is on hardware better than the 360 that brought us Mass Effect and Gears.

Why did they bother if they weren't going to try?

Really just lost hope in a proper Starfox update.
