Steam Treasure Hunt!! Sale and Contest time

I'm doing it. Then I'm going to strut around the GAF server like the cock of the walk.
Now that you've bought RUSE, you can't back out ... and it's only the first day. :lol

Right, because I'm going to spend over a hundred dollars just for more entries in a silly Steam contest
How about getting it to be able to play countless games including the full 1200-game Steam catalogue...

But you can limit yourself to the tiny Mac portion if you want, just don't expect to be catered to because the rest of us are not limited to that.

yeah pricey entry for this I mean it could be cool if they were all cheap indie games Id jump in but a 35.00 game one I am really not interested in no sale.

I was looking for games to add to my wish list and I saw Just Cause 2, I went to add it then I saw the "You Already own this" message and realized I had just gotten steamed.

Goddammit. I wasn't going to get anything today, was going to resist, resist.. But.. I really wanted Poker Night anyway.... and, it's the cheapest it's been.... No! I mustn't!

Then my wife said "Wait, was that Tycho? We HAVE to get this!"

It's installing now.

This is so clever. Definitely participating in parts where it makes sense.

At this point is Steam just going to have sales 365 days a year?

Facsimiles, photocopies or mechanical reproductions of entries will be void. An alternate entry must be postmarked during the applicable Treasure Hunt period to be eligible. To be eligible for the Grand Prize Drawing, an alternative entrant must have entered at least 10 Treasure Hunt objective drawings and then provide an additional alternative entry for the Grand Prize Drawing, postmarked December 20, 2010. Alternate entries received after December 31, 2010 will not be eligible for any Sweepstakes. Each user may submit one alternative entry per Treasure Hunt objective. Proof of sending or submitting an alternate entry is not proof of receipt of such alternate entry.

You don't have to pay a cent LOL. Well, besides postage.

You bought it and forgot? :lol I did this with a Fightclub dvd back in the day

Man against my better judgement I bought this stupid poker game and suck far far too much at poker to actually beat the challenge.

I deleted my wishlist after the thanksgiving sale because I thought it was a lame marketing attempt to get me to put 5 games in there, to increase the chances that I might buy some after-the-fact, for a minuscule chance to win.

Now I have to go and add them all back. Fucking steam.

Adding 5 is not enough btw. You can win 5, but need to add 10 to be eligible for this / the last contest. It's all in the fine print at the bottom.

"Eligibility: Entry open to any user holding a Steam account in good standing, with a Wish List containing at least ten (10) single game titles."

Man, I'm going to be playing a lot of Poker Night today just to unlock that shit by tomorrow. :(

I hope Chime is easier. :lol

It's not that hard once you realize the trick is to get the multiplier up real quickly by creating small quads and then focus on long extended quads.

got all 3 but ruse achievement... now to think if I should buy a game for 1 Achievement
Keep in mind that there are still 6 days worth of objectives left, and I would wager that each day at least one of the challenges is going to be one you can do without buying games like the avatar one today.
So unless you are a crazy person and are just after the last TF2 hat, I wouldn't buy a game for an achievement.

I bought Chime.

Saw a dollar and some change
Saw for charity
Saw TF2 HATS!!

Couldn't refuse at all.

I already had the avatar one, and the Poker Night one. I am not buying Ruse.

I'm shooting for the second TF2 hat, so I'm hoping Valve makes most of the achievements for Valve games, since I own them all except Counter Strike Condition Zero.

Ok, I played Chime and Poker Night and got both achievements. Both games are actually fun and I'm probably going to continue playing them. However, I still feel like a lab rat in some kind of evil experiment. The fact that I'm aware of that makes it even worse.

Now I'll just hope that the next challenges will be on games I already own (or I just win the first round and will be satisfied... ;) )

How long does it take to get the poker night one? What do you have to do?

oh goddamn, just realized Chime is $1.25

QUICK GAF, TALK ME OUT OF IT
BUY IT.

DO IT FOR THE HATZ.

Seriously though, you might think its a dinky little game to play once and throwaway but its not.

Chime bought, why not. Already have the Iron Curtain as well, so I should be able to get 3 out of 4 of the achievement things.

Fuck it, I bought Chime and Poker night

Depends. At the beginning of some rounds (I think it is random), one of the 4 characters will be out of money and will place his special object on the table. You then have to win the round, where he gets kicked out of the tournament.
However, you can simply start new games until the Heavy places his gun on the table and then hope you get good cards. Took me about 2 hours. Can probably be achieved in way less or in way more time.

Chine for a buck is pretty tempting, but I prefer to play puzzle games on my iPhone. I don't know how many times I'll just sit down and play it on PC.

And yeah, this shit isn't helping with my backlog. I bought the Indie Story Pack mostly to play Recettear. I HAVEN'T EVEN PLAYED RECETTEAR YET AND I JUST BOUGHT CIV V.

Tips for Chime, move fast. Really fast. Don't let your combo meter or multiplier fall, I BELIEVE this occurs when you leave some blocks unattended for so long that they eventually disappear if they haven't turned into quadrilaterals. And cover lots of space quickly, don't keep putting blocks in areas you've already covered, unless it's to help create quadrilaterals on blocks bordering areas you've already covered. That nightstick looking piece is a bitch though.

I got like 2.6 million on my first try.
