Stephenie Meyer announces Twilight Reimagined

Surely this is inspired by the 50 Shades writer releasing a new book from the guys perspective?

Either way I hope she uses it as an opportunity to improve on her work
then again it may be more shite

Meyer was going to do that years ago, but it leaked and she shelved it

Keep Jacob the same so we can get a bisexual love triangle going. I can't remember the last time we've had a non-heterosexual vampire story.

Doesn't this change a pretty large portion of the end-plot? I mean, one of the big plot points of the book is that Bella almost dies giving birth and is turned in order to save her life.

Nevermind, it seems as this is only the first book.

All writing is "fun, but also really fast and easy" when you don't have talent or standards or the ability to edit.

Somewhere Anne Rice just had a small apoplexy and she probably doesn't know why.

Yeah, that line immediately made me think "I don't know that a real author has ever uttered those words."

Last time I remember that sort of thing, it was Poppy Z Brite's "Lost Souls", and it was gloriously weird.

Didn't meyer do that first tho? doesn't a book from Edward's perspective already exist?

I couldn't tell you a specific example but i'm absolutely certain there's quite a lot non-heterosexual vampire stories. Especially with gay dudes.

She was writing it, than it got leaked like years and years ago, and she said she felt that the energy was taken out of her...than the fifty shades of grey author came and literally stole her idea lol...again

come on , there's no way that it'll work with a gender swap. What made Twilight so popular was the idea of a woman that was not stunningly beautiful, had a pretty terrible personality, no real aspirations, no talents she worked for but was suddenly desperately wanted by good looking, highly desirable men.

If you swap the genders none of that works. I mean what guy is going to believe that even though they look like a lump, have a personality of a doorstop and have no aspirations whatsoever would be wanted by not just one but two highly attractive women.....my god.....the fedoras will love this.

Beaufort really ?!

Heh, that's pretty neat/fun. I don't like her work, so I don't have a reason to be angry or insulted about it and it's kinda cool to see her playing around with something no one should take seriously. Who gives a shit? Let her have fun and make $$$

I really, really doubt this is going to be an unattractive dude.

Definitely don't find it upsetting, just completely hilarious.

Funny thing I was watching The first Hotel Transylvania the other night and thought "man, the romance is actually cute and, yes, a better love story than Twilight"

I can't help but think Meyer thought the same thing.

"Aww what a cute couple Mavis and Jonathon are...

...

WAIT A MINUTE!"

Beaufort and Edythe...?

Beaufort and Edythe...?!

Don't the characters start out as teenagers? When was the last time you saw teenagers named Beaufort and Edythe? o_o;

when white people were allowed to name their kids after 2004

some Kayden and Jaykob ass motherfuckers out there

It is completely unsurprising that someone who wrote fanfiction decided to write gender-bent fanfiction about her own fanfiction.

I mean, I've got no problem with it, but it's really, really funny to me. It's the most internet-y thing I've seen today.

Beau and Edy are cute names that I'm sure they'll stick with for most of the usage. Isabella went by Bella after all.

I'm kind of puzzled why there is a "why do you guys criticize bad writing?" sentiment in these kinds of threads.

She saw that 50 Shades woman making cash over her Twilight fanfic and wanted the same.

Funny enough, the 50 Shades writer did this first - she rereleased 50 Shades from Christian's POV.
