Ferrell can't carry a movie, and I'll remain skeptical until seeing this in its entirety, but the concept is decent (though not nearly as quirky or unique as it would've been a few years ago). It also kind of bothers me that Forster can't seem to decide what kind of director he wants to be; I'd be happier if he went back to the dark drama of Everything Put Together and Monster's Ball, but that's highly unlikely to happen.
As an aisde, the writer, Zach Helm, is working on a potentially interesting little movie as well.
