No, not the sort of "delayed indefinitely" that really means it's been cancelled. The PC and Xbox 360 versions are still due out for the 27th of August but a PS3 release date was suspiciously absent from the press release. Dutch site PS3Only.com contacted Midway for a statement. They replied saying that Stranglehold is "definitely out this year" but it has "no confirmed street date as yet."

We're a bit confused about why this would happen, but we're not as disheartened as you might expect. The estimated release date before the delay was September 17th. We'll still be incredibly busy with Lair and Heavenly Sword at that point. Still, it's not a good precedent to set. This sort of thing had better not become a trend.

a) It won't sell as much on 360 because of that.
b) It would've sold a lot more on a Bioshock and Blue Dragonless PS3, especially with Hard Boiled included.

It was a convenient joke I'll admit, but realistically, how many games have been released day and date on both consoles?

The trend for games that are even known multi-console seems to be 360/PC, followed by PS3 a few days, weeks or months later.

Any movie shot on film should be able to make a great HD transfer - 35mm film contains more picture information than any current HD format can display.

it was shot on film and as such will absolutely stand up to an HD transfer if it's done with the proper care. 35mm film has more resolution than 1080p.
