Seems Vienna doesn't have it quite as bad, it'll have around 32°C on Friday, I'm okay with that. Heat doesn't affect me as much as it used to, luckily.

Even if they were sold here (maybe they are, I don't know), I don't have a good space for it.
Cars virtually all have AC, if only homes did![]()
No. Perhaps the south of Germany. But i sure as hell can handle 35 degrees in (South) East Europe much better than the same temperature here in NL.Tschechische Republik is right next door so we have pretty much identical weather![]()
You are no longer a British citizen. Hand over your passport and electric kettle.
But how will you complain about the heat? Don't you want to be part of the Zeitgeist?
We're old Europe, let's talk about the definition of a mobile ac unit first and then - after four years of rigurous discussion - decide if we buy one or not.
Part of being british is that we get to complain about the weather no matter what it is. It's our conversation ice breaker.

Sorry France but you are going to burn.

As is the rest of western europe.[/QUOTE]
Now I know why I love Scotland and Ireland so much. Major heatwave, and it's just 23°C over there ? Just perfect.
I really dislike hot weather in general, but I think I'm getting used to it. It also helps that my current building does a very good job keeping a fresh temperature in all weathers. Old brick/stone houses rule. ^_^

help pls
Went to work in shorts because I've started cycling in and wanted to take any opportunity to cool down.
I stand out like the sorest of thumbs.
It's 15 degrees and cloudy over here.
At least you guys can wear shorts.
All of the windows I have seen in Germany make it so that you can't even get a window mounted AC. They open like this.

Spending two weeks over in Europe (Italy, France and Spain) starting on Friday. Hoping the heat subsides by then.
Yeah window mounted AC just don't exist in Northern Europe, AC is either integrated in the building (usually for offices, sometimes modern flats), or you can buy mobile units like the one below, which has flexible exhaust pipe that has to reach outside one way or another.

My girlfriend is heading to Barcelona for 10 days on Wednesday and she hasn't been anywhere outside the UK and Ireland before. Poor thing is going to seriously feel it bad if Madrid's temperatures are anything to go by.

Adieu
I have an job interview thursday but 34 degrees + 1,5 hour ride by train to get to the interview + hay fever means i might as well postpone it. :lol
That's it. I'm moving to the sea.
Sure, it's doable. But it's still just a little bit to chilly to be comfortable.@kjellson: 15°C is perfectly fine for shorts. If you don't wear any it's because you are a pussy![]()
I really HATE summer.
it used to be fun when I wasn't working, the whole summervacation and everything.
But now it's stinking sweaty people, sleepless nights, insects everywhere, migraine's and the inescapability of it all![]()
