Hello, my friends! Today's poignant question: who would win in a cosmic tête–à–tête between two supremely powerful opponents in Franklin Richards and The Living Tribunal?

This thread has not only been brought to you by Stumpokapow, who is singularly responsible for so many of these amazing, deeply insightful versus threads, but fellow moderator besada. That's besada, and yes, he would like you to send him many PMs.

Our good pal besada had this to say on this particular subject, but let it not sway you, folks:

[12:25:51 am] <besada> Franklin has the ability to manifest any desire at all, on a cosmic level. In addition, he can will new universes into existence, inhabit them, shape them, and bring things out of them. and this is as a child.
[12:26:48 am] <besada> He's been described as a being whom the Celestials believe is their peer.
[12:27:47 am] <besada> Future versions of franklin have killed Celestials.
[12:28:08 am] <besada> and have had Galactus their Heralds.
[12:28:51 am] <besada> Infinity expressed concern at his power levels as a child. The whole Marvel universe is afraid of what he becomes when he grows up.

LT is the arbiter of all universes, directly under TOAA.

LT stomps FR, even if we assume he had unfettered absolute access to his full potential, which I'm pretty sure he's never had.

Tribunal's three heads are too busy bickering. Franklin's got this.

For real though, LT is for all intents and purposes the omnipotent god of the Marvel multiverse. Franklin would probably eat shit.

The living tribunal's head just floats. No neck, no nothing. It just floats

How can you beat someone like that? Impossible I say

Living tribunal is like right below ToAA how is this fair?

Franklin is like midtier cosmic at best.

Please Franklin is TOP TIER cosmic. Dude has Galactus for his herald and fights Celestials to a goddamn standstill as a child. An immortal capable of staving off the desrtuction of reality with pocket universes.

None of that would phase LT.

Essentially the god of all universes as The One Above All representational power. Yeah it's not about being cosmic tier and what not, there simply isn't tiers to reach The Living Tribunal period.

The Living Tribunal.

Franklin is noted to be on par with the Celetrials, but not the cosmic beings.
Franklin is stalemated by Hyperstorm.
The Living Tribunal is unaffected by the Infinity Gauntlet, which means power, reality, space, time, mind, and soul manipulation has no effect on him.
The Living Tribunal was able to reverse the effects of the Infinity Gauntlet, which means he can at least manipulate similar powers at will.

John Matrix, obviously.

Don't know much about marvel but if LT is god then of course he wins.

My question is, how is it possible for Franklin to become that powerful?

Look at all you fools disagreeing with besada, dude's going going to stomp y'all no doubt.

Marvel writers have such a hard-on for Richards, he'll take it.

The Living Tribunal is so powerful he was was outright able to rule that the Infinity Gauntlet doesn't work anymore. An edict that was in effect for years before Bendis brought it back without bothering to explain why the ruling was lifted :(

He was also killed without anyone noticing.

So, this is actually entertaining, because Franklin is basically as strong as he wants to be--he's Galactus at one point because he said so and believed it.

So if he believed that the Living Tribunal was simply wrong, does he have the willpower to maintain that correction?

It's not a curbstomp either way.

As someone who doesn't follow comics (I used to collect spiderman comics), these entities sound really stupid. It's like the writers aren't satisfied with already ridiculous powers of hulk/superman etc, so they create characters that can literally just do anything. How is that interesting?

It's really just background mythology and doesn't generally have any impact on the day to day affairs of most heroes.

Franklin uses his powers to come back in time and hang out with his younger self, he also turns his lame healthy sandwiches into totally awesome ones.

What is he even supposed to be, a mutant with ridiculous powers or something. So he could just wish all the villains in the marvel universe into non-existence and be done with it? Why...

Seems pretty spry for a Dead guy considering what he did to Doctor Doom at the end of FF 16

http://abload.de/img/ffv2016-017aeb7l.jpg[IMG]

That was month's after his supposed "Death" in New Avengers.
Does he do this to any bad guy? Why Doom specifically?
