Suda + Kojima = Snatcher? Mizuguchi + Al Gore = ...?

didn't Kojima say a few years ago that he'd love to collaborate with Mikami on some kind of more expansive Resident Evil Online?

That would be awesome!

paging cvxfreak... :D

Why would it be the project he's working on with Mikami? Why wouldn't it be Project S he's been in talks with Kojima with for a long time now? It'd be a waste if all three of them worked on one game as well.

First Nights now Snatcher?
This is fantasy land. I refuse to believe. I just can't.

Whats next Policenauts actually gets translated? PD saga gets re-released?

The next step is obviously Phantasy Star V, Wii-exclusive of course.

I'm not really familiar with the Snatcher game, but I would really like to see another cool adventure game on Wii, so, count me in.
By the way that was a really interesting report, thanks for the heads-up, john tv.

Fact is.... Suda is not working at Next Gen Plattforms at the moment. He would like to work with 360 but he is developing 3 Wii Games. One is no More Heroes, a second one is announced but without a title.

So i guess Snatcher for Wii!

IT only took 11 posts for "It should be on HD! " a new record.

Guess Matt C was right (he talked about Snatcher II last week)

Get a life.

I'm looking forward to playing it on whatever console it comes out for.

It just happens that the Wii doesn't look as good on my new TV as the other two systems. Not to mention the whole Snatcher universe would look great with next-gen visuals.

But thanks for being a jackass regardless.

Nothing, but have you even played the first one? The Wii remote is basically the perfect controller for Snatcher.

That's if it plays exactly the same. I'd like a new Snatcher to be a fully 3D adventure game that lets walk around Neo Kobe.

man, i could see a game conveying a conservationist message through something like rez's last level -- but miz says it isn't going to be quite like that.

and if there is a new snatcher, i hope it isn't just a digital comic sort of thing. it's an interesting world, and i'd like to see suda's take on it, but the first one really had no value as a game.

I thought this came up before and it's just a port...
I think after 50 posts someone would've already mentioned such a thing if it happened, perhaps you are thinking of Grasshopper's first two games coming to the DS?

Sounds like the perfect project for Suda then. Your description of Snatcher sounds almost exactly like Killer 7.

also from the 1up story: "So what is this thing about Snatcher? Expect to hear Kojima and Suda 51 talk about their secret project in a few days."

yeah...killer 7 is more of a game than snatcher, but i'm hoping the new snatcher is more of a game than killer 7.

I don't really care which platform this comes out on, as long as the original comes out for the download service of the corrosponding platform. From all the chatter Wii + VC seems like the safe bet.

things are just always slightly more exciting if they are announced for the wii. If its announced for the ps3/360 u can usually guess how it'll work.

Nfans will whine, Sonyfans/Xbots will gloat, and mods will ban. It'll be like a party in your pants.

I can't help but let out a hearty lol every time someone throws a fit over a big third-party game coming to the Wii (NiGHTS, now this), because if the Wii continues selling like it is, well...I hope you guys don't like Dragon Quest.

Who's throwing a fit? And when was it announced for Wii?

I think I'm gonna stay out of these threads if people can't handle somebody wishing a hypothetical game will go to a particular system.

Seriously. People should start getting used to this. As it stands, the japanese videogame industry = Wii, NDS, and PS2, and only one of those is going away anytime soon.

True that. But then again...which version of the original? Do we go with the MSX version for truly old-school flavor, the Sega CD port with more additions or the PSX/SAT version which would be basically the "final" version of the game?

Then again, if going MSX would mean bundling SD Snatcher as part of the package deal, then so be it... :D

This is probably one of the few situations when I'll jump on the often irrational "hope it comes to wii" bandwagon. Snatcher was never graphics intensive,a sequel should remain 2D, and the shooting gameplay of Snatcher would be best on the Wii. As well, the point and click abilities of the Wii would greatly benefit a game like Snatcher gameplaywise.

That is of course if they keep the gameplay similar to the original. If they decide to hold on to the IP, but take the gameplay in a whole new direction, then that's something else entirely.

I think it's the budgets that are making the difference, as much as the marketshare. Would NiGHTS be worth the financial risk on PS3? Would Snatcher be worth the financial risk on 360?

(Of course, if it's now announced for the 360, then I wish them the very best of luck in proving me wrong :-)

Needs to be the Sega CD version at least. From what I understand the MSX version lacked the third act, and I can't even imagine the game ending like that.

IAWTP

I never had a chance to play the SAT version though. I'm curious to see how much better/improved it is over the Sega CD version. Also, while I'm wishing, lets have them release Policenauts on VC as well...

I am all for waggle control but I really hope this gets to a system capable of some next-gren graphics. These universes would look so good on the Xbox360 or PS3.

I'm talking about the "this is perfect for waggle" types.

You don't think that a particular game can be imagined being, via the particularities of his (supposed) design, very well adapted to the capabilities of the Wii controller, with arguably more potential than with the capabilities of any other console ? Not AT ALL ?
Look, I'm very well aware that the "port it on Wii" catchphrase get often thrown around in obviously not justified situations, but aren't you imaginative enough to see, in a case like this, where the obvious potential is on the gameplay side ?
