This actually happened last weekend, but no one ever made a thread.

Domestically it has become the 14th highest grossing comic book film surpassing Iron Man 2 this weekend.
WB's SUICIDE SQUAD is a fighter--down just -18% in its 7th weekend w/ $4.7M, $313M total.

After a steep second weekend drop, it has also become the 2nd leggiest comic book movie of the year behind Deadpool.

It currently sits at 718 million worldwide and still seems to have a little gas left in the tank.

Suicide Squad has a pretty good shot at hitting $750M worldwide, which would put it at #14 for comic films worldwide as well.

Cross-posting this from the box office thread, since it fits in here better. I think that the bad second weekend drop and mediocre third weekend drop sort of mask how Suicide Squad has been performing in recent weeks:

Here are the 7th weekend (domestic) grosses for all MCU era Marvel/DC comic films (spring 2008 to present)

A few films had their 7th weekend land on Labor Day weekend. Labor Day typically results in a 20-30% better drop than a film would normally have.

Suicide Squad had the 7th best 7th weekend out of the 29 films listed.

Good job, I guess. Imagine how much more it could have made if it was a better movie.

I do wonder

Like I thought even if it was a good movie 600-650 would have been a respectful number to cross.

Like without China and a name I honestly thought may have turned folks off... 700 million seems rather remarkable for a good or bad movie.

I guess this means word of mouth was decent on it...?...o_o

Is so, wouldn't surprise me if that was down to the performances. Certainly can't think what else was appealing in the movie...

In some weird, twisted way I gotta give Warner Bros daps for making so much dough out of this hot steaming pile of shit

Since Iron Man 1, the only superhero films to make more than Suicide Squad's current WW gross without China are the two Avengers films, the two Dark Knights, Iron Man 3, Civil War, Batman V Superman, and Deadpool.

So 4 Iron Man, 3 Batman, and a Deadpool film.

Deadpool and BvS (minus China), will only end up $20-30M ahead at that.

I don't know how anyone could have expected a much better result for Suicide Squad than the one it ended up with.

That's a lot of customers who will think twice about seeing another one of those DC Universe movies.

Fuckin. Lol.

You people said this after MOS and BvS. Just accept the fact that the mainstream doesn't give Thor 2 a handjob, and actually kinda like the DCEU.

Ha. Check out my Seventh weekend list. Suicide Squad's 5th and 6th weekends are comparable as well. It's been a long time since people were blindly seeing this film with zero clue about the reception. It clearly has something that audiences want.
