So, random question, but which do you prefer to play as?

DMC3 Vergil or DMC4 Nero? Just a random question I wanted to put out there. For some odd reason I actually like Vergil more, (Not that I hate nero or anything,)

Nero is a really, really versatile character, he is amazing. All things considered he has more options at play and more nuanced systems at any given time, at a sheer mechanical level Nero seems like a given. But I prefer DMC3s animation/gravity, and I adore playing as Vergil due to his insane power/great feeling attacks (lunar phase, judgement cut, his sword sheathing taunt, yamato aerial rave cancels, sword hangers, spiral swords, etc)...man I dunno.

As far as character goes, Vergil is way cooler, this isn't debatable.

Go out an have a couple drinks with friends...come back and MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHVEL IS NOW AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

Best day ever.

the only thing that would have been better is if this was Capcom Vs. SNK 2

Well SNKs cast aren't super heroes so maybe one day when its not super hero extravaganza we'll get it

Since it's superhero month and all, can we talk about my man Moon Knight and how he's terribly underrated?

Because Moon Knight's fucking awesome. Except for that period in the mid-90s when Terry Kavanagh and Stephen Platt were doing him. That was terrible.

I have Bendis's run on Moonknight and I really liked it, is there any other run in particular that you would recommend?

Charlie Huston's 2006 run is basically the best Moon Knight has ever been (EDIT: Okay, maybe not the best, but the 80s Moench/Sienkiewicz stuff might be a bit tough to get into, so I'll recommend this over it). The only downside is that it was a bit hamstrung by having to be tied into Civil War. But even then, it looks at a very interesting side of the whole conflict. I highly recommend it.

There's also Warren Ellis' run, which is currently ongoing (though he's leaving after the next issue). It's pretty damn good, and only 5 issues in so it's not hard to catch up on. If you need a reason to read it, well...issue 5 is basically The Raid: Moon Knight.

Oh god, Pat's rant about Haggar's alt-costume hair. I'm dying.

Pat, if you actually have hair it doesn't take ten years to grow out a scummy ponytail. I promise.

thanks for the reply, I'll check out Huston's run. It seems like the Ellis run is getting a TPB in Oct so I might just wait for that, my local comic shop is shitty and probably won't have the back issues

So I finally beaten SMT4. Chose this special ending that stops the game a little earlier as I was too frustrated over not being able to get the ending I want. I knew this game had NG+ but what I didn't know is that you can only bring over 1 demon over from your previous game and some other minor things. I was like sure fine let me just work for the other 3 endings. But then I found out you can't skip any of the non-FMV cutscenes in the game.

I'm right pissed right now

Man, I can't tell if Pat takes the Soul series too seriously or if he just isn't that great at the games, but I'm enjoying the shit out of his enthusiasm and their conversation.

Shout out to the Zaibatsu for getting me through a year of military school and another month of military summer school. Assuming none of you are killed in a fart-gas-related disaster, I'm sure you guys will get me through this coming year as well.

Maybe a year at least or 2. That's a pretty long ass ponytail.

I hate you guys.

Also, the reason I'm being so careful is because Woolies a huge baby. He breaks if you push him too hard and he doesn't know the ropes. I'm using the logic of good ol' Demons on him, which most of us forgot by the time we got to Dark 2.

You carry over your entire compendium, that's more than just one demon, along with the total number of app points you accrued during the game and macca. That's hardly minor

And just hold down the X button to fast forward through all the dialog.

In one issue of Ellis' run, Moonknight punched a ghost, then in another issue he stared in The Raid. Well worth the wait. I'm just sad the Ellis is being followed up by Brian Wood, one of the most boring, actual-real life gross writers in comics.

I finally finished Shovel Knight. Man, that was fucking great. Tiny missteps at rare, random times, but that happens with every game. Overall, it was incredibly fun.
AND WHY THAT ENDING SO GOOD?!?

I need to get this game man. I am selling all of my steam trading cards to see if I can get £10.99 for it.
I'm poor as shit

Isn't that the guy that's batman who kills people? I remember reading a bit like 5 years ago, pretty good.

He's not exactly Batman, although there are similarities. He's a dead soldier-for-hire resurrected by and inhabited by the Egyptian god of vengeance, and he's more like Sherlock Holmes than Batman ever really has been. He also makes a point of wearing the brightest damn colors out there so people see him coming.

Also there is an issue of the Warren Ellis run that is, as someone said earlier, literally the Raid in comic book form.

Shovel knights ending caught me off guard by how good it was.

fighting the bosses again like that was intense

She's no Mary Jane...

I find it difficult to choose between the 2.

=D

He played most of the game didn't he? C'mon Coach, ride him a little harder.

I mean in the sports analogy way, how lewd!

Why am I up oh god this is bullshit.

Babby Ashley keeping you awake?

All this.

Plus, he teams up with Punisher from time to time, and we always get some sick art out of it.

I liked that Moon Knight had a different costume for each issue to match what he was up against in the Ellis series. I was a particular fan of Mystery Solving Suit Moon Knight and Bone Moon Knight.

All my cards are up and I made £3.11. Not quite £10.99 but what can you do

You could check out the bst thread here on gaf and see whether someone's selling it for cheap and willing to trade for TF2 keys. Check out whether it's cheaper for you this way and if it is, go for it.

I'll check that out

Anyone else feel the dark souls 2 play through would be better if pat was playing?

Nothing against Woolie playing but the whole play through at the moment is a focus on the mechanics and it feels more like a walk through tutorial.

I think it would benefit from Pat playing so that they can gloss over the constant babysitting and talk more about the story and lore.

Punisher is so fucking cool!

I bought Punisher Max Vol. 1 yesterday.
I don't know if I can post picture of the comic inside but things happen.

This is my first experience with punisher and I'm happy.

Hey Pat, if you're awake, don't worry:

Is it the first of Ennis' run, Welcome Back, Frank? If so
Punisher punches a polar bear in the face and it is amazing
. The entirety of the Ennis then Jason Aaron runs are across the board fantastic.
