Playing the Dark Souls 1 DLC and I just can't beat
manus. Dodging his physical attacks is easy enough, but I can't dodge any of his magic, especially that dumb circle thing.
Fuck it, I'm giving up for the night. I'll try gitting gud tomorrow.

Just saw Guardians of the Galaxy.

Best Marvel movie confirmed.

Also, from the IGN article for Ganon in Hyrule Warriors.

"The iconic villain from the Legend of Zelda - complete with flowing red locks - wields duel swords in the game, and appears to be able to slam balls of fire at his enemies."

Oh man. I'm becoming one of THOSE guys. Where I'm watching the TMNT NES video and SCREAMING at the screen "PRESS SELECT TO SWITCH OFF THE SUB-WEAPON. GODDAMNIT PRESS SELECT."

Fuck. ;_;

Has there been any reviews of mobile games where they score controls a zero and say "This game is controlled with the touch screen."

I haven't listened to this week's podcast yet, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that's the F Plus. It sounds like something they'd do.

F plus, that's it. I heard it but I wasn't paying too much attention and I couldn't go back because the player is dumb. Thanks.

Finished Man of Steel. It was kind of shit if it wasn't for those badass fight scenes.

And what is up with Superman's adoptive dad? Kind of a strange asshole he is.

And did Superman
actually kill someone? Does he even do that? Why the fuck would anyone write a story that forces Superman to kill someone? Zac Snyder is a hack.

So I found that listening to the podcast while playing the fightan games is a great way to get some practice in without getting bored. Sadly, I'm all caught up with the podcast. Luckily, powerful Joe Rogan is here to back me up and with THE MACHINE once again as well.

And did Superman

He destroyed a good chunk of Metropolis by just rampantly flying through buildings. Those people that are usually in those buildings? They weren't gone yet. New supes is a mass murderer and Zach Snyder ruins everyhing he touches.

Liam's gun jumping ways are getting to me. I'll get it if I can't do it.

Well, doing the boss without the pendant isn't impossible. Though making sure you have a fast roll (and perhaps even a Dark Wood Grain Ring) is absolutely essential, since you'll need to abuse those invincibility frames if you want to dodge that one circular attack he does. But yeah, getting the pendant will absolutely help if you can't do it any other way.

Also fuck looking up all these Manus videos. His fight and design are way too cool and his stringy fur motif reminds me of some of the shit you could see from the leaked Bloodborne trailer. Give us some good stuff on Bloodborne, Gamescom!

I wouldn't be able to roll good without taking off all my armor.

I once beat Manus without rolling by switching between a normal 100% physical reduction greatshield for normal attacks and the abyss shield for those hex attacks.

If you want to block and roll then strip your armour or wear havels. You shouldn't be letting him damage you in the first place.

I don't have the skull lantern, cast light, or the sunlight maggot and I'm too lazy to get it. If I don't beat him eventually, then I'll probably go back and get it.

Go get a lantern. You're not going to do it without the pendant.

I just hit the painted world. Forgot how cool this whole area is. Reminds me of Demon's Souls.

But I just did though.

Thanks for the advice everyone. Turns out after studying him for long enough, his magic is actually SUPER predictable. Raise staff in air = dark rain. Slam staff on ground = dark circle (which you can just turn around and block with your shield). Hold staff like he's doing kamehameha = dark shotgun, which you can roll out of it you know the timing. After figuring that out, he's pretty simple.

Now do to the other boss, wherever he is.

You thought Manus was tough? Wait till you see Kalameet.

That was one of my gripes with DkS2, no completely optional worlds, like The Painted World, the Hollow or Ash Lake, and two of those have the most sublime beauty in all the game.

I don't know about that. I never fought the royal rat thing people were talking about that was absolutely terrible or that executioner chariot.

You thought Manus was tough? Wait till you see Kalameet.

And here's hoping that it was gonna be an easy boss ._.

The Dark Chasm of Old is a fucking bullshit series of challenge rooms.

Didn't know that I just heard of it and never did it myself, how bad is it.

Also looked up a few videos for Dark Souls 1 and I don't know why but some of the animations look a lot better than Dark Souls 2 or am I crazy.

Dark Chasm is 3 small areas with lame powered up AI phantoms that all culiminate in a pretty awesome boss fight.

And yea, DS2 has some really bad animations (the hollow soldier run is the most glaringly bad one). The general feel of DS2 is that it's rough around the edges and needed more time for polish.

Kalameet is much simpler. It's only a difficult fight if you're going for the tail.

Assuming its a str weapon, no. I'm a dex build and don't even plan on playing past this DLC since I already beat the game twice before. I just never played the DLC because someone I know told me it was ok. But that person was a GOD DAMN LIAR because this DLC is great.

Okay, I may or may not do it eventually. I think it's the only boss I haven't fought yet in the game.

I was wondering because I was watching just the walking animation and thinking why does this look so smooth and DS2 looked a lot rougher, and just the attack animatinos looked nicer...god dang it I haven't even played the first one and I think I am slowly joining it's side.

It's a great sword but going for the tail makes the fight much more interesting.

The DLC is pretty good, but 70% of that is because of the bosses. The areas themselves outside of a lore perspective are kinda lame. But meeting the other knights and seeing the effect of the Abyss makes up for it.

I killed him, but didn't even bother going for the sword. His tail is just way too hard to get to compared to the gargoyle/gaping dragon. I could have summoned help, but I really don't like doing that on boss's I haven't fought. Except for DS2. I just wanted to get that over with ASAP. Fuck the smelter demon.

Good job. Kalameet is a cool fight. Go do that.
Whoop, you already did.

Yep. It was a pretty sad DLC seeing
that this was the time right before everything got fucked. We even got to see puppy Sif, as useless as he was. And after you kill Manus, just to see the princess just half dead, moaning on the floor.
It was a really cool DLC. Now to watch a bunch of ENB so I can learn all the lore about these games.

To those waiting on a price drop for the Dark Souls 2 DLCs here is something I picked up from Reddit (shut up).

The Dark Souls 2 NA Season Pass for PC is currently on sale for 25% off ($18.75) on GMG! The deal will last until August 8th, and requires the following voucher code: WAT399-HZSWBT-IWXJWB

Dark Chasm is 3 small areas with lame powered up AI phantoms that all culiminate in a pretty awesome boss fight.

If you pay attention to what they're wearing though you'd see that most of them are references to Dark Souls 1 characters! Including the Firelink Firekeeper.

It actually doesn't scale. It has 20/16 requirements and it does 480 flat damage when fully upgraded. It's a dragon sword that has the benefit of being buffable. It is a claymore R1 with the 2H R2 being a strong aoe attack (slow but more damaging wrath of god) that's good for hitting enemies hiding in corners or behind walls or trees. It weighs 8.0 and actually works in a lot of builds! It's one of my favorite DS1 weapons.

Oh. Well too late for that then lol. But that sounds really cool.

The nail in the coffin for me was when I discovered what they did to the claymore in DS2.

R.I.P. in pieces ;_;

Just finished the podcast, and godDAMN this was the worst podcast to decide to listen to with headphones. ESPECIALLY after having ear problems for the past week. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck, they must've been blowing those birthday noisemaker things directly into the mic. ;_;

EDIT: YO HOLY SHIT PAT, THE REMAKE HD REMASTER IS REAL, FAMITSU JUST POSTED IT

What's wrong with the claymore? I just tried it out recently in DaS2 and it still feels like one of the most solid great sword in the game.

It's grading on time and combo too man :P Don't worry, you can work on it and learn better ways to get ranks. No damage is the most important thing for an S rank, but everything else too.

I guess he may means how the Mastodon ahead sword is better in every way which is sad? Claymore in DaS1 is one of my favorites.

Mastodon is basically a claymore that deals slightly more damage in exchange of weighing more.
