Super Best Friends |OT2| We Promise Nothing and Deliver Less

I think a lot of novels today, seemed to be grounded in reality, not that I mind. But there is always a twitch of something that isn't completely out there. Perhaps because of the medium people are expected to take things more seriously, but I never read a book where someone cuts a building in half or ride up a building on a motorcycle. You only see that in movies or Anime and what not.

Though, because it is written, do we have a preserved notion that everything has to have a certain level of seriousness to it?

I think it's just harder to portray that in writing, the graphic novels I want to write are super insane crazy bad-ass super fights, but that's just a format that doesn't work well through explanation. Like, it's awesome seeing the Gurren Lagann summon a giant drill, but having someone write out "Then, the Gurren Lagann put up duh hand, and den summoned a giant doriru and flew at duh guy den he died." Is far less exciting.

I want to say that people have a hard time imagining asura's wrath or MGR type bullshit because it's so crazy, and not common. Imagining a spaceship blowing up a space station is a lot easier to do

Hey Matt (if you're reading this), I just heard from the Friendcast 53 preview video! SUPER-HUGE CONGRATS on the soon-to-be marriage! :D

PARTY!! *fweeee*

Hey ! I saw that Gravity Falls gif, I was gonna say that it's cute, but then you changed it :(

I can see what you mean, but I'm sure there are thousands of ways you could write that to make it cool or interesting.

Well you have us now ya nerd. We can help you with those things.

Also, please make friends at your local animu club. Maybe you'll see Aaron there :p

Lol yeah you guys will help a bit ya nerds. Well I mention this probably way to much but art majors are full of nerds and anime fans so it's basically a anime club for some people. It's mainly everyone ignores me though unless they need homework or help with a project.

Your course load permits social activities? Get out of those soft sciences, son, go get a neuroscience degree, or a computer science and game design degree from DigiPen.

There's no time for social awkwardness when 40% of your class washes out or has stress-induced breakdowns in their first year.

I'm actually not as awkward as I used to be. I talk to people in class and try to be nice. Like I said earlier they ignore me sometimes though.

The year was mainly bad for 2 reasons. My Gf broke up with me (she is still my best friend though and the one I sent the saddest candy in the world to), and my supposed best friend pretty much dropped out and then lied about going there for no reason so I don't talk to him.

Things got better this summer thanks to you frienders, and the Zaibatsu...man that Nuzlocke stream cheered me up a ton.

Figured you guys should know this any way not making this a sob story though since things are better now XD...well a bit.

I was wondering why the gif was different too.

Yeah, bruh, you should have never changed it.

Man, Gravity Falls is so good.

Mabel so cute *blush*

Just stroll in there, do a JoJo pose, state your name and that you're the true kind of strong style. Then leave and don't attend the first class. Show up to the second one and act like it never happened. It's foolproof.

Serious suggestion, I had the problem of not easily making friends when I first went into college, and I quickly forced myself to learn. The easiest way is to just start talking to whoever is next to you. I know that's the most basic school friendship shit, but it's the easiest way and someone has to make that first step. I usually just outright say that we're going to be stuck next to each other for awhile and that we might as well talk.

I did that a few years ago at a black friday line and met a really cool guy.

I can see what you mean, but I'm sure there are thousands of ways you could write that to make it cool or interesting.

Oh, I'm sure there are, but finding how is hard, especially since the people who are passionate about that type of stuff are either more passionate about the visual aspects of it, or are more passionate about the mediums they first saw those things in. That's how it is with me, I want to save my cool over the top ideas until I can do them in a format that works with them better.

"Not even the strongest of the beastmen could handle the girth of Simon's drill. Nia couldn't contain herself as she was just splooshing everywhere"

See. Erotic and epic.

Where'd you find my fanfic?

Semi-unrelated: Has anyone actually written any fanfiction? Because, I've written like a shit ton.

So today I learned that my little sister, who's not a big anime fan by any stretch, is a fan of Kill la Kill through absorbing tumblr posts about the series.
She ships Gamagori and Mako. So proud

Don't worry about it. The thing about college is the further you get into your degree program, the more people start dropping out due to over-socializing or literally not being nerdy enough, and what you're left with is a progressively nerdier core group of students who are acutely more aware that they may be lifelong professional acquaintances depending on the depth of their field of specialization.

Eventually people start to realize all the chummy chaps they liked to talk to are, for all intents and purposes, dead and gone, and it's the guy who they only wanted to get homework help from who's probably going to be working alongside them for the rest of their life.

That's when you drink deep from their depression.

Yes, it's great practice, though I was always more of a fan of stories that simply take place in the same world featuring an original cast, even if those tend to be less popular.

Are we still talking about writing cause I myself am a bit of a writer. Right now since im still in college I really wanna write manga, but in the high likelihood of that not happening I really wanna write video game like Kojima or Sci-fi or adventure novels.

Hey Aaron, wanna be friends???

I have. I don't care, it's fun, and I have no interest in trying to get my original work published.

What series you guys write? We gotta know.

The one I've written the most for is Resident Evil. Half legitimate half smutty sex stuff with my favorite ships.

After that FF7.

I'll think about it, just don't make me look like a nerd.

Writing graphic novels is what I'd really love to do above anything, since that's what my primary interests would lend to creating, but that market is the hardest thing to be successful in and it's not a good idea to put all my chips in that basket. Videogames is something I was curious about for awhile, but getting into a Kojima-esque position of writing the majority myself is pretty much impossible, and I really don't like writing with a group.

That's honestly is howI make most of my friends. I sit next to them and eventually say something, and we usually become friends. It's actually how I became friends with my ex. The problem is like I said they kind of forget about me. So I'm trying not to concern myself with it too much but it does affect me. I just like having people to talk to, and now I actually want to try to hang out with some.

Yeah, I already notice a few people dropping out or are not as into their major as they wish they were. I am always aware of the mentality that nerds rule the world so one day I really hope my actual friends at least try to stay in contact with me and we are all successful, yes even you frienders!!!

Thanks you guys!!!

Downloading and planning to replay MGS1 on my vita when I get home from work tonight. Or Drakengard 3. I'm super indecisive with what game I'm in the mood to play.

I've never actually played MGS 1 and I'm downloading and playing it soon

I played MGS 1 for the first time a few months ago and it's really good, I mean it holds up really well
(graphics and all)
. I'm currently going through all the mainline games for the first time in preparation for MGSV.

Thanks you guys!!!

I think social ineptitude is something a lot on this videogame forum can relate to.

Not me of course, I'm a social butterfly blessed with a complete lack of shame. But, you know, before that it sucked.

I intend on making graphic novels/ web-comics. We should have a writing workshop where Aaron teaches us all how to write good.

Y'all wanna learn how to write a blowjob to sound good? I can tell ya that real good.

I'll think about it, just don't make me look like a nerd.

Legend of Korra stuff,

My main story was about a group of benders that encounter some weird benders in Republic City.

The main cast consist of a Woman who can bend her own blood, and a Fire Bender that has gun powder at the bottom of caps that when used be fired like bullets.

They encounter such foes, as a Fire Bending bird, a Fire Bender that uses a guitar as a weapon. A man that can bend his own bones and make them into weapons, Another man that has a giant animal that is immune to fire that he jumps inside it's mouth and through the pours on it's body can light it's own body on fire.

An Airebender that can defend themselves using circle motion of their feet, and a Earth Bender that spins stones so fast that it can go through steel.

I really just wrote the story to see some cool bending done, without really setting much of it up. It's really close to a series of events that happen with a loose plot pulling everything together, from chapters 9-20, you could probably place most chapters in any order without losing too much of it.

Ive never been against writing in a group so as long as I'd be able to write on a video game I would be super happy. As for graphic novels I know it's super hard to be successful with them but a lot of the stories I have written i dont think could work as novels.

Edit: also with fanfiction so far i have written a really bad FFXIII thing and a few Naruto romance stories about Naruto and Hinata.

I ran into this when I was young, where every idea was just for graphic novels. I still think them up constantly, since it's the most fun and what I actually want to do, but I had to force myself to start thinking about regular old novels.

Luckily I found I love murder mysteries to death and have been told I'm alright with them.

Trying to recover my throat and ears from wrestling by playing Dragon Quest 8. I want to marathon the rest of Oreimo, but there are people here and... Yeah.

Ooh, let's talk about writing! What's your book about?

I love talking about novels!

I'm writing a novel as well, it's about 30-40k right now, it's basically kind of like Bladerunner+Alien+The Thing mixed with a bit of existentialism.

It's a lovecraftian cyberpunk detective horror story, it's kind of about how our past comes back to haunt us and no matter how hard we run sometimes we are our own worst enemy, even when fate conspires against you. A downtrodden, haunted, grizzled detective is brought back onto the force after a high profile murderer that supposedly died comes back to kill again, this time with unheard of savagery and strangely ritualistic overtones. Given his history and failings with this killer, the Head of the Metropolitan Galactic Police brings this dishonored Officer back into the fold to amend for his past sins and solve the case.

But he gets more than he bargained for, because in the high tech criminal high rise of Delferno, nothing is as it seems and the road to redemption is a long and tragic one filled with darkness.

Can he stop a killer who is supposed to be dead? And why is this killer targeting the rich? What is his game?

The road to redemption is paved through hell.

The Tartarus Syndrome, Coming 2015.
or whenever I finish it. :P

That honestly sounds way more entertaining than most of what happens in Korra.

And you know, I don't think I've ever written a fanfic that was more than a one-off. The concept of chapters never occurred to me, I just kind of made 400 page single things.

Meh, it's only 100K words so far, and it takes me a month to update a single chapter. (5000 word a piece) I would link it, but then I would die of embarrassment.

What series you guys write? We gotta know.

I currently writing a Bleach fanfiction to make things less stupid, and less Shinigami wank. I feel it's going well.

I was going to start up a Eva fiction, where the Evas operated as stands for the pilots, but it kinda got shelved. I'll revisit it in the future, when I get a rush of ideas.

So how hard is Pat losing his shit right now?

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=873305

Norman Reedus as the main character is a bad choice, but Kojima and Del Toro? I think that offsets him.

WHAT THE LITERAL FUCK?

Edit: also with fanfiction so far i have written a really bad FFXIII thing and a few Naruto romance stories about Naruto and Hinata.

My Naruto ships were Ino and Sakura, then Temari and Ten Ten and Kurenai and Hinata. There was some alright stuff in there.

I wish someone could anime us up depending on what they think we look like

But people already know what I look like. That's not fair!

So how hard is Pat losing his shit right now?

I dunno weather or not to be super hyped for this or super skeptical about it.

If I had to choose a genre id love to write as a novel I think id have to choose space jerks in space doing space stuff.

Hey you losers, how do I get into playing the silent hill franchise? I kind of want to just get a PSONE emulator and play the Rom of SH1 then go from there
