That's, actually, the exact thing we're talking about

No it isn't.

If sonic had a shadow color, no one would give a shit.
Sonic has a silver color in 4.

We are talking about a costume simular to the john costume in Injstice that transforms a character into another character

So no, that isn't AT ALL, what we are talking about. Maybe you have been confused this entire time.

That's what you are talking about but we never said that. We just said a Shadow costume for Sonic. I don't even want this, I don't like Sonic and I like Shadow even less.

This is an interest point, some might that sega has an interesting, inconstant train of logic that has gotten them into shit. Some might say thats true.

You don't remember sonic adventure 2.

Because his running and movement animation in that game are different.

And he has powers in that game. and a different attitude.

Which would require different animations for tuants, movement, and voice work.

Which... is another character.

They do, and has been noted, by the people making sonic boom, the comics, people who make sonic games who aren't sonic team. They go though a lot of renovations before the product comes out. Sega released those bad games, because they were proud of those decisions at the time, that's it.

They do care, they care alot, they make shitty video games regardless of them caring.

Maybe they care way too much and thus is affecting the quality of the products.

Then again, Sonic and that fanbase gets treated like crap by not only SEGA but by other fanbases.

I really wouldn't want Shadow to be an alt for Sonic, considering that Metal Sonic fills the role much better.

If shadow's in smash, an assist trophy or his own character is fine. An alt for someone who is clearly different is just lazy.

It would be like making Luigi Mario's alt.

He just said that he didn't like the look of the characters, mostly in terms of shading and such, compared to previous entries like melee and brawl.

That's all? Huh, I thought he would've had a legitimate complaint. I'm not crazy about the darker outlines either but the characters still look nicely detailed.

What you are saying may not be wrong...just not in the sense you are thinking. There is a very interesting narrative that has brewing around sanic for a while and those who like him and.. interesting discussions are had.

I'm not gonna say much yet, I'm just gonna see how boom pans out, but ... the issue you claim might be the reason why... lost world exists.

We we will leave at that for now, I am sure you all are tired of sonic talk

We are talking costumes, that is the assumption. We were not talking colors. Its a costume, its a transformative work,

But lets leave it alone.

That sounds ridiculous, but I'll withhold judgement until I hear it. SSB4 looks exactly as I expected/wanted it to look.
It would be like making Luigi Mario's alt.
Except they're really similar and even had the same exact moveset in Smash 64. I agree with your point but that comparison doesn't work.

Yeah thatd be super weird

No no no. You can't say something opaque like that and walk away. What exactly was I wrong or half right about? What discussion has been brewing?

so should i finish Persona 3 FES before i listen to the podcast?
im on floor 220 so i dont think ill hear any spoilers that matter

They talk a bit about the final boss so you might want to wait until you finish. Even then you should tread lightly because they spoil almost all of Persona 4. Actually, they start off the spoilercast with a big P4 spoiler, so you may want to just skip out on the spoilercast entirely.

It would be like making Luigi Mario's alt.

No, It would be like if Virgil was Dante's alt.

Or Dio was Jotaro's alt

Humor doesn't make shit gameplay un shit.

And maybe it was funner when people doing the humor were ernestly trying to be cool guys, rather than just doing humor that as of late ( since generations ) has been falling flat on its face.

Lets leave it at that.

There is a lot more to this, but the discussion is to be had when sonic boom happens and we see how that pans out.

Yeah thatd be super weird

Well, if you're talking about just colors, than fine. But people actually what what they did with other characters and have Shadow's voice clips with Sonic's moveset.

And even then, there isn't a Luigi Alt, there is a Wario one, but the green one has different overalls.

Now Metal Sonic I am all for, robots make everything better

Metal Sonic is less of an alt then Dr. Mario was for Mario.

It didn't make sense to me why Dr. Mario was even in a Smash game as a separate slot. He took up a slot that another character could've used!

He had more power apparently and less speed
Plus to get monad you have to do elizabeth request of killing the reaper.

I doubt Dr. Mario took anywhere near the amount of time and effort to make that a full character would have.

Bull.

He was reskinned Mario. That team ran out of ideas.

That should've been Banjo-Kazooie's spot! I'm still salty about Dr. Mario.

Sakurai said that it was way easier to add clones, than create new characters, and that they ran out of time working on Melee.

And I vastly prefer Dr. Mario over one of Rare's worst designs ever. God, Rare characters are horrible.

Yes this is exactly how it worked. Fuck Doctor Mario, kicking out the already designed Banjo-Kazooie. lol

I know they had a limited time to develop, but you aren't telling me they haven't thought about it in between Smash 1 and Melee?

Banjo heard you. He's gonna give you the stare.

What's wrong with Banjo's design? He's a fucking bear in yellow pants! With a bird hiding in his backpack!

I never was a fan of banjo, I didn't like his design even back as a kid.

I don't like most rare designs.

Also

despite all that has been said about samus and portrayal and what not

I would play the SHIET, out of princess samus in smash

Wow so I was curious to find out what the names of each block of tartarus represented and when I look up "thebel" on google the first result was a gamefaqs question that was "how do I get to the 16th floor of thebel"

Do none of them have any meaning? That's a bummer, especially considering Tartarus is well known. I was hoping for more Greek mythology, that's actually why I like Persona so much, I'm a fan of the demons being based on several mythologies.

Speaking of Sonic, I just beat Sonic Generations for the first time and it was fun.

Although I am confused to why Sega would want people to remember Sonic 06.

Probably cause banjo was a rare created character and was technically 3rd party nintendo.besides pokemon every smash character I believe is first party

HAL Laboratory (Creators of Smash) were second-party.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Smash_Bros._(video_game)

Super Smash Bros. was developed by HAL Laboratory, a Nintendo second-party developer, during 1998. Masahiro Sakurai was interested in making a fighting game for four players. As he did not yet have any original ideas, his first designs were of simple base characters. He made a presentation of what was then called Kakuto-Geemu Ryuoh (Dragon King: The Fighting Game)[16] to co-worker Satoru Iwata, who helped him continue. Sakurai understood that many fighting games did not sell well and that he had to think of a way to make his game original.[16] His first idea was to include famous Nintendo characters and put them in a fight.[16] Knowing he would not get permission, Sakurai made a prototype of the game without sanction from Nintendo and did not inform them until he was sure the game was well-balanced.[16] The prototype he presented featured Mario, Donkey Kong, Samus and Fox as playable characters.[17] The idea was later approved.[16][18]

With only a small budget and little promotion, Super Smash Bros. was intended to be released only in Japan, but its huge success there saw the game released worldwide.[4] Super Smash Bros. was commercially successful, and became a Nintendo 64 Player's Choice title. In Japan, 1.97 million copies were sold,[6] and 2.93 million have been sold in the United States as of 2008.[5]

Speaking of Sonic, I just beat Sonic Generations for the first time and it was fun.

Although I am confused to why Sega would want people to remember Sonic 06.

I still haven't finished the game yet. What levels were ripped from 06?
