Super Bowl XLIX |OT| The Butler Did It

Can I root for both teams to lose? Maybe have the stadium get hit by a meteor with the game tied 0-0?

Seriously, how the hell did we manage to pull the two teams with the largest amount of bandwagon fans ever into the same SB?

Something something Packers throw the game. Something something Colts forget what a defence is.

I'm with you, though. As a Packers fan I can't root for the Seahawks and I just dislike the Patriots. More so the fan base than the actual team, but dislike nonetheless. If they could both lose... I'm just salty, though.

Seahawks are going to pull out a close one. Chip on their back or not, I don't think the Patriots can finish.

Also, JUDO CHOP!

I can't believe Hawks-GAF can get away with such blatant #truefanshaming on a forum as progressive as NeoGAF. It's a classic case of institutionalized bandwagoning.

Go Pats.... But i put money on the Seahawks to win, i just hoping here the Super bowl isnt a Blowout like last year.

Balls to that, Chickens by 80 would be the GOAT Super Bowl

On the condition that any arsehole referring to themselves, or anyone else, as a "twelve" is immediately jailed indefinitely without trial.

Is there any successful sports franchise anywhere that doesn't have their share of bandwagoners? I think it is such a dumb discussion.

(Seahawks lifelonger here)

27-20 Patriots.

My heart wants Seattle to repeat, though. We haven't have a back to back to SB winner since Denver.

Last repeat was the Pats 2003/2004.

Peyton was just the mini-boss last year, time to take down the king of all douchebag AFC quarterbacks now. Pats are in for a big surprise, I hope Kam jumps the lines again and breaks Brady in two. GO HAWKS!

No denying Kam showing some crazy drive and athleticism on those leaps. He's someone we have to be careful of

Yea I'm on the Seattle bandwagon and I ain't got no shame in admitting that since the Browns will never go to the Super Bowl in my lifetime!

The problem with bandwagon fans

A) They tend to talk the most shit yet don't even know the most basic facts about their team or the sport in general. Being a casual fan is absolutely OK, but if you claim to be a fan of a team, you should still be able to answer really basic questions such as "Name a key player on the team other than Russell Wilson or Richard Sherman" or "Who are the head coach, offensive and defensive coordinator of the Seahawks" or "When was the Seahawks' first Super Bowl appearance?" You don't have to know every player on the rosters' personal family history and every coach down to assistant to the associate equipment manager (AKA ballboy) but please know something before you start spouting trash talk at everyone else.

B) They don't stick around for the tough times. Time will tell on both of these teams on that one. The Pats are probably at the end of their run of excellence and will come back to Earth soon. The Seahawks may just be at the beginning of theirs, but in general success is fleeting in the NFL. For all we know thia could be their last shot and they go back to what they were (which is historically relatively mediocre before 2012) next year. Will the new 12s stick around for that? I dunno

They're better and far less annoying than the "real" fans who sit in game threads pretending they know what plays should have been called after the fact, and then spend the entire game asking for specific coaches to be fired.

I have kind of learned to accept bandwagon fans and I don't see them as a reason to hate any team. If your team is good you will get them, if your team wins it all you will get even more. When the team starts to suck the fanbase will diminish somewhat. People are stupid.

Then again, maybe I'm the stupid one for spending countless hours of my life reading about and following a team that is a perpetual fountain of dogshit.

Miami fan as well?

Don't really care about either team and don't have a preference on who wins. So not having cable isn't such a big deal.

But I really want to watch Katy Perry and the halftime show. What a bummer.

Honestly I don't see much of a reason to hate Seattle. Possible reasons:

1. Richard Sherman is a thug! (Nope, he's awesome! Tom Brady trolling and Kraft/Goodell jabs? This guy is a national treasure!)

2. Pete Carroll (Somewhat understandable if you're a big CFB fan.)

3. Those horrible 12's (See previous post on bandwagon fans.)

4. No one wants repeat champs! (They deserve it with this amazing defense.)

5. Russell Wilson cares about God too much! (Umm, okay...)

6. You are a Packers/49ers fan (Fair enough!)

Did I cover everything?

Rooting for injuries. 12th man indeed!

No skin in this game. But I just want a good one unlike last year. Seeing Seahawks go back to back would be cool and Russ is annoying to see on my TV but undeniably a good guy. But seeing Tommy get his 4th and catapult into definitive #1/2 GOAT status would be interesting especially since people would just be seething about it.

This is a terrible post.

I bought Child of Light and Guacamelee, great games!

I will root for the Pats for approximately 10 seconds of the game since you said good things about them.

Yeah so many people on Gaming side soured on Child of Light because of its rhyming but I find all those UbiArt games to be incredibly well done.

Guacamelee's platforming gets pretty challenging in later levels.

Go Pats!
