Only one team this season beat both Super Bowl participants, and they did it by a combined 31 points.

I am not entirely sure what Gaming Side is complaining about. I mean yeah it's rhyming but who gives a shit? It kind of fits the theme.

Then again, a lot of what they complain about flies over my head.

No man, you're a die hard. As a Seattle native, I have a hard time understanding why anyone not from WA/OR/AK would be a fan of my teams. I grew up rooting for my locals, regardless of how much they sucked. The Mariners and Seahawks have many more years of futility and hopelessness than we do victory. I still love them both.

Honestly I only started hating teh Seahawks after listening to their fans cry after our SB over them and reading their fans comments in the nfl threads on neogaf

With that being said, I think the Pats had the single biggest bandwagon hopping phase I've ever seen in my life.
I know a lot of you younglings don't remember a time when the Pats weren't good (and as a side note, if you never rooted for bad team, it might be best not to grade other fans, but that's a different topic) but the pats were at one point one of the worst franchises in all of sports, and sports fans in Boston, which even I, who hate every Boston team have to admit are pretty legit fans, didn't give a flying fuck about it.
I mean there were fans of the team of course, but you routinely hear people say "pats? fuck that, that ain't Boston, it's a team for fuckers from New England".

Over the last 17 years the Seahawks have finished 1st or 2nd in their division 12 times and 1st place 8 times and are now going to their 3rd superbowl in 10 years. I have a hard time agreeing that they were 'shitty' for a long time. They've been pretty good for the last decade. Don't disagree that there are a lot of new fans of late though.

Also the 12th man thing isn't new...they retired the #12 in honor of the 12th man in 1984 and I believe are the only NFL team to do this.

The 80's and especially the 90's were dark times for the Hawks.
 
As a Manning fan, I hate both of these teams. But I can't bring myself to root for the Patriots... So go Seahawks?
 
Adamantium would rust in this thread. I guess I've been on the hawks bandwagon for about 10 years now. Remember when Rothlescheeseburger paid off the refs in SBXL just so they could have a ring for their thumbs?

Go Pats. Peyton's season ended in shambles and one more Brady super bowl win should end all discussion about Brady v. Peyton. If it makes Sherman quiet down for a year, that's just a bonus.
