Super Mario ReMaker PC demo is out!

What is this?
Super Mario ReMaker is a fan made Mario Maker alternative for pc from LuNiney. Mario Maker includes a lot of interesting and cool stuff already in like a costume creator, Bot plays your levels, special modes, running vs Boo and more!

In the trailer description there are the download links for the demo and some of the costumes.
Grab your favorite controller (coincidentally my friends Snes pc pad arrived today) and try the demo out yourself if you want
Of course it's not finished but it looks promising, so there will be bugs and the dev would like to collect them so he can fix them.

What do you think of this?
Any costume wishes which are not already playable in the demo version?
What pad do you use for this?

Honestly I expected this sooner or later, there were several games like Super Mario Bros. X which were built with a Mario Maker tool on pc and this is like the Wii U version more beginner friendly and easy to use.
 
Oh man, I remember Super Mario Bros. X by the guy who made Terraria afterward, it was an awesome game/engine.
I don't think this project will end well though :s
 
Looks really interesting, gonna download this now!

Hopefully this isn't the only comment about the actual game instead of the usual drive by C&D posts.

Why do people who make these things put em out like this knowing they will be shut down by the actual IP owners? Why waste the time? Make original content!

Didn't Nintendo rip off modders first?
Just because they own Mario doesn't mean that they invented this.
For years there are Mario tools on pc.
Also my friends own a Wii U, we just heavily dislike the input devices and something like this I would rather play on pc with our favorite input device.
 
I actually don't think it'll be Nintendo to issue the C & D, it'll be the other trademark infringement he's ripping off.

Yeah but they weren't this blatant. I mean calling it "ReMaker" with a similar interface and even style of advertising. That's just asking for a major company to take it down.

True, but this level creator is very specifically modeled after SMM. Hence the name. It's clearly designed with the intention of having the same features and UI as SMM but with more additions, which is legally very questionable and this will almost definitely get C&D'd in record time.

You have to remember that when stuff like LunarMagic came out, there wasn't any official equivalent. That's a pretty important distinction.
 
Yeah, this isn't cool at all. This is directly competing with a product currently on the market and is branding itself in a very similar way.

I really don't understand what they were thinking making this one. Fan games are cool. Mods like Project M, stuff like that also make sense. This is pretty much trying to be the same thing as Super Mario Maker, and is not a mod for it or anything. This is going to get C&D'd quickly.
 
Why couldn't the creator have waited until the project was nearly done before announcing it? *Sigh*

I'm downloading it anyway. I hope that he gets those additional features implemented before getting taken down. However, there have been tools like this in the past, the blatant similarity with definitely arouse Nintendo's attention.It was foolish of the creator to do that?
 
This might be the one time where I could see a C&D happening because the name is too similar and it's a free alternative competing with a product that's out right now.

Name aside it's designed to be a 1:1 recreation of SMM with more content

If it was called "Ultra Mario Creator" it would still be strong grounds for a C&D
 
Where's the heart? There is none. If you're going to copy something, copy it. Don't just imitate it.

Also, C&D incoming really soon because come on. It's a rip-off and includes a lot of Mario assets. Now if they changed everything Mario or Nintendo related, then it'd be a different story.
