that tap update 10 times to refresh cache is cool! had no idea that existed. that said, i've tried the trick and can only get it to "notify" can't get a download going :/

If you're outside the US you'll need to tap it 12 times, not 10.

Also, this is not a dig at NYR. People are just messing around while waiting for the game to release.

Yep same here, cool trick but doesn't start the download for me unfortunately.

Fair enough, I get people are cynical. I can't explain how I got lucky, I just did exactly what I said - clicked the Notify button and it downloaded.

The update button trick successfully allowed me to click notify again, but when I clicked it, a message appeared telling me they'll notify me when it becomes available, lol.

It happens every time; apps have to propagate through all the servers and it can take a few hours for some people to see it.

I found another trick on iphone6:

- go in store
- tap update 10 times
- hold siri button
- go back to mario page
- throw phone out window (from at least the 4th floor building)
- run down go pick up your phone
- download mario

it worked!
