So this Reddit miner has been verified before? The lack of knowing Ryu's, maybe trolling Roy fans, and a possible Ryu victory theme being its original midi SF2 win theme and not re-scored like all the rest of the cast feels dubious.
 
Still hyped for Mewtwo but that's pretty stupid that he doesn't have customs. He's probably automatically down a tier in customs games because of this. He needed customs :(

It's not that hard - just create versions of his attacks with stupid windboxes, ones that have less range but hit harder, maybe ones that do more shield damage or something... This sets a precedent that makes every DLC character to come less competitive.

What throws me off is that he was like "omg did they update the sound files for Roy Koopa or something?

When it's obviously implying to be Roy from melee. I don't see why he could think they would touch one random koopaling.

Seems suspicious is all, but I do believe it.

There, I made some customs. They didn't need to be creative, he just needed them...

I don't understand how they go and integrate Mewtwo into the game nearly entirely, and skip one huge key aspect,,,

They could charge £20+ for an iM@S girl and know the hardcore will still snap them up. With Klonoa they'd have to resort to paying people to download someone so obscure. Business can be cruel but that's the way of the world.
 
Do people seriously play with customs? Hmm never really got into them so far because you cannot use them online. :-/ I only heard that my main (Palutena) is a beast with customs D:

You didn't even try them? They're really fun and make a lot of characters much stronger. I use them all the time.

Offline tournaments all have started running Custom Tournaments.

Yes, customs are standard for tournaments now so we use them online.
Mewtwo not getting customs is hilarious, but that means Lucas isn't getting customs. Fuck.
 
Watch them bring back the entire roster.

Except for Ice Climbers and Snake.

No never used them till now at all (play since 3DS version). I am just a vanilla ranked guy... I am not even playing with friends and customs because we all said that customs won't be usable here and there... we don't see any reason in that.

And I won't go to a tourny ever (went once, Germany, only stupid elite people whose asses we kicked and they cried... wasn't fun at all) again.

You can only use customs only with friend matches wasn't it like this? I don't play with friends online that often, just ranked.. so I don't see any reason for that. I know that Palutena e.g. gets really strong by using customs, but that is also a bit boring because I like that she is a underdog. Makes kicking asses even better lol

This. I kinda sorta hope it's just a Street Fighter stage or Ryu AT or optional music, but it's probably Ryu being added as a full-on character if anything.

If "things that don't let Mega Man have anything" is indicative of a pattern, Zero will be the next third-party character. :(

Ryu's cool, though. I suppose if Capcom's mascot and most-requested character is already in, Ryu would be the next logical choice.

Playing dumb about Ryu and Roy is suspicious, but the lack of a new arrangement for the SF2 music is the most suspect - even Duck Hunt Duo's fanfare didn't use a verbatim rip, and leaning on the 'retro' angle would have been far more justified with them.

Of course, I could just be in denial because I desperately wish for Roy to remain dead.

Concepts being trivial to come up with doesn't account for the extra QA, animation and effects work required for customs. If they were rushing to meet a deadline, they would have been an easy thing to cut.

Hopefully they can be implemented with future patches, but that seems unlikely.

Customs are standard in the competitive community now. Unless EVO goes screwy they will likely continue to be the standard.

I'm not reading it that way. He said that he just included them as a fun aside and didn't bother to balance them. I don't think he's backing away as much as he never cared much about them so he doesn't see the point of putting in the effort for DLC characters.
 
I still don't have the codes. I bought the 3DS and Wii U versions digitally so it automatically registered, and I even went through Club Nintendo to confirm months ago.

This data mine leak should be verified/destroyed very quickly once anyone else who can datamine gets the mewtwo update.

While I don't think I ever said "Roy will never come back" I'll still eat crow like I did because after arguing against him it looks like he's back

I have no problem with Ryu from Street Fighter my only issue is his moveset is super obvious

B = hadoken
>b = that kick move
^b = shoryuken
Vb = spin kick

Which outside of the kick will probably make some people claim Ryu = Mario clone (though arguably Mario is a clone of Ryu :P)

Assuming its true the release schedule must be planned to be something like

June = Lucas

August = Roy

October = Ryu

Then after that a "season 2 dlc" from the results of the poll would start. Maybe get a wolf dlc in December as a stop gap
 
Well I looked at the Wii U update files that I got unpacked I only see files for Mewtwo. And I checked the executable and decompressed it. I didn't see anything for Ryu or Roy. Nor did I see any files. So they might have just only put them in the 3ds version at least?
 
I'll trade someone. First person to quote this post gets a Wii U code, but they must give me their Wii U code when they get it. Fair trade - you just get it earlier if you've registered both versions and are waiting on your codes to come in.

Got so many codes from y'all.
