Woot... Got to download Mewtwo on Wii U before sleeping... Err should I even bother sleeping at this point. Was going to wake up in 40 minutes from now anyways...
 
Ooh that sucks, all thought they said that mewtwo would get the works. Makes it even more bizzare that it took them 5 months to bring over melee mewtwo :/
Other than Palutena's Guidance and Customs, he has "the works" and is fully placed within the game.

Which makes it all the weirder he lacks customs. If he had them, you'd almost be fooled into thinking he shipped with the game if you didn't know better (and his CSS placement wasn't awful)
 
Got my codes, tested out Mewtwo on 3DS. Haven't updated Wii U yet, need to finish up my taxes today before diving into that.

Feels better than Melee. A few things I noticed though...

His standard B energy ball no longer does damage to an opponent if they get near it while charging. It also has some ridiculous range at full power. Seems to not die down...at all. Just killed DK from the other side of Corneria with it.

His down aerial killed Zelda and ZSS between 80-90% while they were on the ground. May have a sweet spot though, I couldn't do the same with Doc. Confusion seems to have weird range or doesn't work unless you hit them in their face with it. I missed Doc a few times when he was moving around- I was able to hit ZSS with it in the air though.

Had one weird glitchy thing happen-- When ZSS did a recovery special and I jumped at the same time- the jump went farther and Mewtwo floated a bit. Makes me nervous that Mewtwo was rushed out.

Best of luck those still waiting for codes. Eager to try him w/ a GCN controller now.
 
Now I'm sad I don't have Mewtwo and that samus got nerfed

Ike seems the same. Pit as well, I feel the arrows are faster but that's probably placebo

Sounds like all you did was a footstool but ZSS was mid-animation so the footstool animation didn't trigger. This is a glitch that's been in the game since it's been out (and as far back as Brawl). It's nothing new, they didn't rush him out.

You did a footstool jump without making ZSS go into the animation footstool cause she was doing a move.

Odd. Never seen it before, and I wasn't even close enough to do a footstool. Good to know this is normal-ish though.

I just spent 30 minutes trying out GameCube controllers for the first time in Smash. Yesterday, I bought an adapter and a few controllers, but for now I am using an old original controller. I set up a two player match and compared the Pro controller and GC controller directly.

I prefer the analog stick of the GC, but I can't get over those mechanical shoulder buttons. Clunky, loud, and slow feeling. I just discovered that you can grab by pressing shield + A, so I practiced that. It works flawlessly on the Pro, but due to the long travel time of the GC L/R button, pressing it and A simultaneously is not always easy, even though I am not "clicking" them. I often end up punching or shielding.

Blasphemous to some, but I think I'll just pick up an extra Pro controller.
 
Using the C-Stick for aerials when it's set to Smash Attacks doesn't affect your movement anymore it seems, unless I've just forgotten what it used to play like.

So much for "They can't do it like they used to because you can charge smash attacks with the C-Stick now" if it has been changed.
 
Ryu being in Smash really surprised me because of Sakurai's stance on fighter characters.

I'm excited for Ryu to be joining smash, but to be totally honest, I would have loved to see Chun Li instead. She's just as iconic and would have added another female to the roster!

Both. It's the main OT but it's also the OT for the DLC. Which controllers were you using? Brand new GC controllers can have really stiff shoulder buttons. Yeah, it's a bit weird having to push it all the way down at first, in Melee you actually got a different shield depending on how far down you pressed it. In Brawl and 4 it doesn't do this though.

That's one of the worst excuses to add someone in, cause the gender of a fictional character matters. >_> For the record, if I could pick I'd also go chun li but that's only cause I like her moves, not cause she's a girl
 
I entered my download code for wiiu and downloaded/installed Mewtwo but he's nowhere to be seen. Do you have to unlock him or something?
 
I purchased both X and Protoman costumes on my 3DS and Wii U and they don't show up on my WiiU?

You have to go into the download codes area. When you enter the 3DS shop it mentions that there's a download code for the Wii U version if you buy it on the 3DS.

Yeah, it's a bit difficult.
 
made a bit of matches against new two players, and I already hate the character with passion... insane reach and priority, annoying teleport , anti projectiles moves
 
Wait, so the Miiverse stage still isn't ready yet? Or am I just blind and not seeing it?

Didn't come with this patch and neither did Tournament Mode or the online lobbies/TourneyMode/communities (the equivalent to MK8's tournaments). Guess we have to wait until JUNE now for those.

Yes, that's what he said during Brawl so I understand that people can change their minds over the time. For Fighter stance, He said that during Smash 4 but I guess he really have short-span attentions. :P

I think diversity in video games is a good thing, personally. If all the characters in Smash were male, I could see it getting stale. Representing all different types of people is a-ok in my book!
