Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U DLC |OT| Mewtwo Strikes Back

I had trouble seeing in Smashville, probably cause of all of the green and being Toon Link with the green team color lol.

Can we switch to red CRQ, if you don't mind.
 
So I was able to find an awesome dunban and make a good x and protoman miis, but I can't make a good Skull Kid mii to save my life. Why you can't have Link's hat AND the Majora's Mask is a mystery to me :'(
 
God damn does learning Mewtwo feel like an uphill battle. Keep getting bodied.
How do you deal with meteor smashes? I've been a Mac main so I haven't really needed to learn (since he just gets killed by most aerials regardless of the direction :P).
 
If anyone is missing their codes and they use Gmail, check your Promotions tab. I don't know why my codes were sorted to there but that's where I just found them.

i generally just air dodge if i see it coming and try to use some of the push i get from it to position myself better to get back on stage
 
I love playing Mewtwo against characters with reflectors. We get to play ping pong. :-D

When I type in my code I get an error saying that it could not be recognized even though I'm typing it in correctly. Anyone know what's up with that?
 
Mewtwo seems decent, but not for me. I kept losing with him, and then I am frustrated when I play my other characters. I did terrible against Puzuri :( I will play Mewtwo casually, like to beat the other Mewtwos on For Glory because they aren't very good, but he isn't the secondary I was hoping for.

I still have my NA 3DS code for Mewtwo. I am willing to either trade it for some sort of digital item, digital cash, or $5 Paypal. I would just offer it for a future Lucas code, but he won't be in code format, so that is the reason I picked $5 as my sale price.

Sometimes the character we main holds us back. Sonic doesn't have to deal with a LOT of stuff other characters do, so when you move to Mewtwo, you may find some of your skills lacking. For example, Bowser doesn't have to deal with players rolling behind him. Fortress solves everything, and I don't even have to think about it. When I switched to Ganondorf, I was getting eaten alive by roll spam all the time because I didn't have Fortress as my go-to tool. However, playing with Ganondorf helped shore up that weakness, and I am much better at handling those situations now.

Similarly, I didn't know how to spike opponents until Ganondorf, because Bowser's only spike is suicidal. So, your situation may be more about "I have developed a set of skills that are Sonic-focused" than "Mewtwo isn't for me". Just a thought!

Definitely not! I always have to significantly outplay my Charizard opponents to win.

Charizard has better aerial options, better normals, better mobility, an option for armor, a spike, the better flamethrower, and the better smash attacks. The only thing Bowser has going for him over Charizard is Fortress.

All I know is I used both, and I always found the Charizard vs Bowser made me feel a lot more disadvantaged than Bowser vs Charizard.

I don't really know in depth stuff tho

Trophy Rush, IMO.

A couple weeks ago I went through and checked all the customs I had gotten and was annoyed to see I was still missing about half of them. This after 5 months of nearly constant "normal" playing (as in, I wasn't specifically trying to unlock anything...just doing what I wanted).

I'm not sure what the actual formula is with trophy rush, but you're much more likely to get a new move for the character you're using that round than anyone else. I just went through every single character who I needed moves for, made sure I hit every green wrench block and I managed to get them all in about a week.


Speaking of customs, I'm really bummed Mewtwo has none (???). I love using custom set-ups.

Good post, except I main Yoshi :P I noticed during my Mewtwo dittos against Puzuri that they would always roll behind me, and I didn't know how to deal with that as Mewtwo, other than predicting. I don't really have to worry about that as Yoshi.

I will give Mewtwo more time, but the early deaths are a big negative to the character experience.
