Smash 4 feels faster after the patch because Hitlag and shield lag has been universally reduced, Check out Jr's Fsmash and Pika's f-air

What do you all think?

As a Marth main, I can tell you that the game definitely feels faster since I updated it in the morning yesterday. Marth flows much more nicely than he did before and his mobility seems much better than before. I couldn't put my finger on it completely, but to me it feels as though the startup and ending animations for dashes (at least Marth's) are quicker, as is the turnaround animation after a dash. These are a few things that I felt more than anything else in the game. it's possible that hitlag and shield lag have also been changed (or they're the only things that have changed) but the game definitely feels slightly different to me. Anyone else?

You sure it isn't just the placebo effect? I'm wary of people jumping to conclusions because even with the characters a lot of buffs/nerfs have been deconfirmed.

Smashboards says it's wrong iirc

It took them what, 6 months? How hard could it have been to work on his customs at the same time they were designing him?

I can't answer that, but at some point in those 6 months they also began development on Lucas as well as having to deal with the balance testing shenanigans. I think custom moves in general probably weren't a high priority for Sakurai's team as much as the characters themselves, but this is just speculation. Hopefully we'll get an interview or something from Sakurai shedding light on this situation. I noticed he's been very talkative about Sm4sh's development compared to other games.

As a fellow Palu worshipper, do you feel like her dash grab connects more consistently now, or is that just my imagination?

I'm not denying the significance of a potential placebo, hehehehe...hehe...heh :(

Nah, but seriously. I don't think I'm losing my mind with regards to fluidity of movement--at least with Marth. I can only hope for proper frame data to come out soon so it can p
put all the debates to rest.

Sakurai dumb.. how come you gotta delete your old replays just cause there was an update???
It relies on input data I believe instead of being an actual video file.
With the changes in gameplay it would totally break some replays. For example someone who did a Hoo Hah with diddy would put in the input for it but the characters would not respond properly and the rest of the match would be completely broken.
They could theoretically keep copies of all the versions of the physics and stuff on hand but that could get really hairy real quick if imagine.
This is all just a guess though. I may be talking out my ass.

I think they should let you view them anyway, it'd be funny how out of wack/sync matches could get with different properties for moves..

Nope, you're right.

I agree. I forget but that has definitely happened to me with some games and it is fun to watch it completely devolve into madness.
I can understand why Nintendo wouldn't want that to represent their game though.

Seriously!? I had a reply I still wanted to upload to youtube but kept procrastinating.. fuck!

Yea, that's why I like playing with GAF, almost everyone uses direct connection, rarely have laggy matches.
Thank you for those matches btw Felt like I learned a bit more than any for glory junk.

GGs dudes, was fun!

As much as I love the weeg, I'm finding that shielding smashes and sliding halfway across the stage is somewhat detrimental in 2s!

GGs everyone! I should probably have quit sooner since tomorrow (or well, today) is my birthday, but it was super fun playing with you guys regardless.

Was a pleasure teaming up with you, Kei! Despite the mishaps :P

that upB buff... seems like it's something

Great Games guys, it was really fun, and finally we could team up TWILT, sick team combos on the last games, also sick auto team kills too P:

FlowWayfarer and Tipster, great games dudes, PikachuxMegaman was hella hard to deal with!

edit: yo TWILT happy birthday man, have an awesome day and lot of cake 8)
enjoy & best wishes pal
