Done already Snacks? GGs, didn't get to bust out the Mario or Gunner yet. :( Really solid Greninja you got there, and I'm sorry to say I have no experience in the Falco ditto so I couldn't give you a solid match there. Still, you've improved since we last played and I'm glad to see it!

I was pretty much out of it with the Greninja vs. Fox match. Every time it seems to be going well with Greninja, it starts to get harder and harder to play him and then all I can do is throw uncharged water shurikens and bad dash grabs.

I don't know how to play Captain Falcon. I just do pokes all day and punish rolls with Raptor Boost and that's as far as I get. I don't abuse jab or up air and rarely seem to get grabs.

Man OT is turning into a graveyard
ur a graveyard LMAOOOOOO

Nah, you had my number in the later bouts. All it takes is one misstep with Fox and I'm done for. Doesn't help that I really don't have any experience with Greninja either. D:

not this time I am staying away (from posting)

Oh, you meant "Off-Topic" and not "Official Thread."

Yeah, you should probably stay here where it's safe.

Edit:

Here's my Wii U play time if anyone was curious. Evidently I haven't played nearly as long as some of you despite getting the game on launch day. I need to work more on Mario and Fox, as I've decided to let go of Falco as a main and keep him for certain matchups only.

I can do one more, last one was fun xD

edit: men you went full Berserk mode on that last one xD

as usual Good Games TWILT, your Robin is getting pretty good, hilarious stuff in some matches, next time we will clash with the pretty blonde boys, maybe in our ranbat match P: again GGs!

Ahh, I felt that ledge miss from Air Slash lol

GGs Kei! Really fun games as usual. Monado Kirby is truly terrifying; I think I got to like 100% so fast in like only 2 combos, though I also took a lot of damage too. Robin dittos were really fun too. Looking forward to our ranbat match; I won't go easy. :P

same here! hopefully my E-adapter gets quickly here, my wifi has been crap for the last weeks that's why I haven't played a match at all, once it gets here I'll go full ranbat mode against the whole bracket lol, good luck in your matches.

My Circle Pad is still good as new. How do you people wear that thing out so quick??

Y-you don't understand, my 3DS itself is falling apart. Paint's chipping off, the R button is wearing out, the volume and 3D sliders are all messed up, and I've got that issue where the bottom screen touches the top screen. I take damn good care of my electronics, but my 3DS just wasn't meant to live. ;__;

Today was an unproductive day of Smash Bros. And it's so much harder to find videos between good players than with Street Fighter.

D-did you not learn anything from our bouts? ;______;

Fair warning; be very cautious of Flux's Sonic. I lost 5-3 to him (though matches were close). Remember to be very patient fighting against the damn blue hedgehog!

I don't know what happened to Nintendo handheld durability after the GBA SP. Every DS has had issues with the hinge, the shoulder buttons, both, and more.

And my brain was already full when I started playing Smash Bros today. I don't even remember anything that happened after 5 pm today.

GGs, Fandangox! Really liking your Shulk. It's hard to adapt to that reach of his b-air, haha. Never knew it reached that far. Sorry about some of those SDs.

Going to stop now since its late, but hope to play again sometime!

Yeah it has very good reach, Most of Shulk's aereals are pretty good. Also you were good at pivoting those titls

GGs Tipster. Going to end it on that good note after so many matches where I got ahead and then did something stupid and lost. Grrr. I think I am making progress, though. Any feedback?

I feel like my biggest problem is my ledge guarding. I just get nothing there.

The game is still new.

Good games Karst. I was going to say, you For Glory'd me! Haha.

I'm kind of the worst at giving advice, since I really am a reactionary player and don't really know what I'm doing most of the time.

But a couple of things I guess, and take them with a grain of salt since I haven't played much Mewtwo!

I'm a very throw-heavy player, and always have been. Mewtwo's throw is pretty beast, and I felt like you weren't going for it all that often. There were a bunch of times where you would dash at me and I felt very comfortable shielding because you'd normally use the dash attack. You did mix it up a bit once in awhile, to great success, but I'd maybe try to look for throws a little more!

The only other thing I noticed is that you tend to go for the same move a bunch of times in a row. One stock, I was at 140% and you kept going for that grab. Which of course, is a guaranteed kill, but knowing you were going for that almost exclusively helped out on predicting where you'd be after an attack. The dash attack is another one you'd do a bunch, same with the neutral air. Just a bunch of them back to back. Confusion came out a bunch one game as well. (It's hard to tell when you're just trying stuff to see if it'll work though, so I can understand if that's what's going on.)

But really solid play, man. You've definitely improved since we last played and I enjoyed seeing what you were mixing up. When I gave up control of the match, I was eating it hard, so props!

If you haven't watched the Bowser Jr. replays from RomanceDawn, ask him for them. Fantastic Bowser Jr., very inspiring.

Well, you are definitely the better player, so I need those wins when I get them. ;) Especially since you have been my most loathed opponent since release. I have wanted to quit Bowser so many times because of you, so I cherish the roughly even matchup Mewtwo provides now.

Throws are tricky because they are unsafe. The dash attack, if you space it properly, has amazing priority and is safe. Plus it grabs metal blade. I don't go for throws a lot because you aren't on the ground often, and I always feel like I get spot dodged. The uthrow won't kill until around 150% anyway. It can also be glitchy. Sometimes Mewtwo's throw whiffs right in front of an opponent. They need to fix that.

If I am doing the same thing a lot, it is usually a test. By "Confusion", do you mean the match I spammed Disable (eye beam)? That was testing. The throw spam match was because I was getting angry and fell into tunnel vision. I think that is a problem I have with Mewtwo. If I fall behind a stock, I start taking more risks because I feel desperate to catch up.

Also, it is hard to get used to having so many options. Bowser basically has no options. You jab or flamethrower, and everything else is a read, punish, or calculated risk. I am not used to having so many options to consider.

Was there anything I did that you felt was hard to deal with?

Ah, if throws are unsafe, then maybe it's not a good idea. Still, mixing them in after conditioning your opponent to shield still is probably worth it. At the very least, it'll make me have to consider the option instead of being sure it won't come.

That dash attack is really good, and it stays out longer than I expect pretty much every time. You caught me with it a bunch both this time and the last time we played. Basically punishing my roll. And for sure, you were grabbing Metal Blades like it was your job with it, so I can understand the desire to use it. When it gets predictable is when it gets dangerous. I'm not sure about proper spacing, but I felt pretty confident that I could shield grab you out of it the majority of the time (when I wasn't rolling into it that is...).

And yep, I definitely meant Disable.

As far as things that were troublesome, the barrage of Shadow Balls were tough. And you caught me twice really badly on the reflect of my reflect of Shadow Ball. Those were brutal, and I completely was caught unaware both times.

You were doing some cool tricks with the teleport into forward air. You caught me with that once or twice and it was completely out of nowhere.

And when you were mixing in grabs, it made me feel way more unsafe. There were a few games you kept getting me and I had to respect the dash in by doing more than just shielding.

You're doing a great job in a short amount of time. Way better than I am with him that's for sure, though I guess that doesn't mean much!

Hope that's helpful!

How are people taking screenshots and posting them from the Wii U? I know nothing of this. I will post mine.

This is all very useful, thank you.

One thing: the teleport into fair is actually SHAD into fair. It isnt safe, but it is great for getting past projectiles.

What I do is load the internet browser from the home menu, go to abload and upload the screen from there (when you choose to "browse" for a picture, the system will ask if you want to upload a screenshot of either the TV or Gamepad display.) Pretty simple. :)

I am amazed to have played so much Mewtwo already.

I thought I had played much! Some of you are crazy lol

Anyone want to play? Late night Americans or early morning EU people?

I'm not exactly gobsmacked about getting rekt in ranbats after looking at the stats in this thread

You guys have some real dedication! I envy that

Wow, movement looks crazy. The mixups on recovery and landing. And I love seeing edge cancelling shenanigans. He looks absolutely dangerous on a small stage like Battlefield.

By the way, is Mewtwo out yet for ordinary people (and those that didn't register the games in time....)? Wasn't it suppose to be today?

This week with the eshop update IIRC
