As you say, I've never played a Bowser Jr. that impressed me besides a couple in the early days that won based on my lack of practice against their up-b gimmicks. I don't find his attacks to be safe at all, considering how many times I've punished his smashes, dash attacks, aerial landing lag etc. I'd be happy to be convinced, but like I said, we're talking about a fight for mid-tier (top 20 or 25) at this point, the top 8-10 are pretty firm.
The impression I'm getting is Smash 4 pros are people who can't cut it in Melee. I'll readily admit I don't think I can cut it in Melee myself. The talent pool in Melee (top 100 players) is at ridiculous levels, and even if they play Smash 4 also, they'll never dedicate the time and energy to it that they do for Melee. Meanwhile the Smash 4 community is mostly composed of Brawl players who couldn't cut it in Melee back in 2008.
I'm generalizing and know there are all sorts of exceptions. I still say the Smash 4 talent pool is not on the level of Melee's. And the top talent prefers to play Melee.
I don't do crap like "top 10". He is a crazy good character, though. I mostly laugh at you trying to pretend he is soooo punishable, and it lets me know you have never put serious time into a character that is actually unsafe, like Bowser.
Unsure on how bracket changes will be handled at this point. Probably a simple bottom 2 down, top 2 up for each bracket. This ensures that each bracket will have maximum fresh blood to keep things interesting.
Also, just to be clear: I think Yoshi is a pretty fair character he is crazy good, but he is well defined and has weaknesses. Right now, the only characters that really bother me are custom Rosalina and Sheik. Everyone else is reasonable. I would rather see buffs over nerfs in most cases.

I don't put time into characters I don't like. You also haven't put time into characters you don't like, such as Yoshi. Every aerial he has is unsafe on shield, and he is essentially a counter dependent character if you want to play him safe.
For bracket 1, Tansut dropped. So is he included in that 2 that goes down, in order to have the same number of players in the bracket, or is it Tipster and I?

I mained the best mistake punisher in the game. Yoshi is safe when played right. You are crazy. You can be balls to the walls offensive with him and it is safe. You just can't throw out stuff like dair and Bair in the ground neutral. The only way you can make Yoshi's stuff punishable is if you dash in and shield to mess with his spacing.
The bracket question depends on sign-ups, which determines how many players are in each bracket. I will probably count him as one of the two.
Tipster is so slow that I haven't played him 1v1 since January.
Yoshi's offense is mostly safe, but that's also sort of because his movement is so wonky. He can't really be punished easily, but he has to commit to approaches. I don't know. He's weird and floaty and can put on a lot of pressure but also has to constantly commit himself, rather than being able to run back and forth in and out and spam up air or forward air like certain characters.
Man Ranbats sounds fun but just as I knew my strange hours and eventually leaving the country would get in the way. I hear there is a Chinese community of Smashers out there, I hope they are decent.
I've played 2 Bowser Jr's that blew my mind. I tried to main him when the game first came out but it seemed like nothing was working. Plus early impressions weren't that great at all and the Jr Boards on Smashboards were all doom and gloom. I just gave up until about 2 weeks ago. Dude moved like Sonic the hedgehog and it shook me to my core! Played another about 4 or 5 days ago who was even better! Went to the Jr boards to see high level play and I was convinced, this guy is a real contender.
My brother plays much more competitively than me, his Dedede is just insane, he has no family or job so getting to tournies is much easier for him so his skill certainly grows faster than mine. It's great playing with him but boy do we get into heated arguments about Smash. Especially when it comes to character viability. He speaks so assuredly about what characters can and can't do and what they will never be able to do. First week, all I heard from him was that fox was nerfed so much and Luigi was going to have a hard time at high level play because of his changed recovery. Always I say it only seems that way because we initially try to play our characters like we used to in a previous version. You never know who could be a slow burn. He won't hear any of it especially when I bring up Olimar in Brawl. Because of the gimpable recovery, Olimar was liability if brought to a tournament but after a few years he was setting tournaments on fire.
Some characters have traits that are easily understood and exploited and are taken to the top quickly. Characters like Zelda or Jr need time to be figured out but before you know it someone comes along and does something so outrageous your whole image of the roster is shattered. My bro insists no Zelda will ever ever ever make top 10 at the major Smash events. I can't stand him sometimes so I'm a looking forward to some amazing Zelda warrior Princess coming along some day to at least open up his mind.
The Yoshi argument or the ranbats? No, none of them really matter. I know Yoshi is a good character, but he is not super duper crazy good like some people act like he is. For ranbats, I don't care if I am in bracket 1 or 2, I just wanted to know.

Nair and fair are both punishable on shield, so they can not be thrown out safely in neutral unless the opponent was just hit with an egg or as a counterattack. Yoshi is a great character, but he loses to practically every other top character (Sheik, Luigi, Sonic, Ness, Diddy, etc.). He is very safe when fighting an opponent in the air.
Hey custom Rosalina is fine. I feel like rosa has an awful match up against Yoshi, her stuff comes out way too slow and yoshi always spaces out his fairs to be safe on shield, not to mention her tall height makes it easy for yoshi to apply good shield pressure.
Ok well that was a great last game lol. GGs. Real nice Palutena for sure, can only beat her with my mains. Way too much Autoreticle for friendlies though. Til next time!
Also I had yet to see that custom counter you had on Lucina. I'm fairly unenthused about customs in general though so my lack of knowledge on some of them is to be expected.

Let's get into them soon then. I'm good to go now. Not really in the mood for Yoshi 1v1 right now, sorry to say Namikaze. Don't have the energy for it.
Maybe don't have the energy for much competitive play at all at the moment... Thus 2v2s

Ugh I can't believe that people keep charging smashes when I'm on the ledge (shouldn't work) and that I have the terrible timing to run into them (fuck).
Edit: Nami you've gotta admit you didn't see that rest coming.
