If they want to practice for Evo, they will already be using one of the pre-approved sets. The pre-approved sets are the best options each character has according to the community that plays that character, so there's no additional harm in letting people play what they like.

yeah, I know ranbats and friendliess here are to have fun, and people are able to gain a lot of knowledge that can translate pretty well into tourney, we have enough proof of that with many users here, the most recent example: CRQ on Combo Breaker. I think sticking to a standard would extend that benefit even further since people would be used to it and sorta know what to expect from certain custom match-ups, all staying in "fair" terms of balance... because yeah, it's the most fair it can get haha

and I agree, I wouldn't like the idea of restrict people either, not for the ranbats, they're good as they are right now, and speaking of ranbats, I'll be available around 7~8pm PT Karst, I'll PM ya as soon as I am available

. In the description click on the Yoshi timestamp (it was a Yoshi ditto), and then the final one (Greninja) was against a Yoshi. Probably some in between, I skipped around. Specifically complaining about fighting Yoshi online.

Yeah, she is tricky. Also doesn't help not many people use her so when people encounter her they are almost going in blind. She basically heavily punishes any opening, problem is for the Zelda player to find the opening. Top Tier Zelda is basically exploit any opening into a kill.

It is also probably one of the reasons why I can't seem to figure out how to play other chars easily. Zelda's playstyle is so different.

There was a little discussion about where Link might place yesterday... well, here he is! Link and Peach are two solid, strong veterans with enduring popularity, so I'm not at all surprised that they both placed in the top 20. I actually thought they might end up being a little higher!

The fourth and last tie in the top 20 is coming up tomorrow -- that's right, two ties in a row! But whereas this tie was between two veterans, tomorrow's tie for the #11 spot (skipping #12, of course) is between two newcomers. I'll leave it to you all to speculate on their identities...

that's Mario on tourneys, but yeah, it applies on FG

and I knew it was Link since Ash pointed out the discussion yesterday haha
just few people are willing enough to commit to such kind of character, if Link was better in smash he would be more popular/main material, nevertheless, good thing to see him up on the top 15
