I've gotten over 400 hours through these two games, and many more hours of fun discussing the game series. I have no problem giving Sakurai more money by buying the bundle, even if I don't care about the costumes.

Has this been addressed yet?

So which is it?

When MK8 offers a 50% increase in content for £13 (notice this is less than half the price of the game!). The suggestion a single smash newcomer is even close to worth £6.30 is just baffling to me.

edit:top of page, oh no.

The "suggestion" is that £6.30 is a fair and accurate valuation for a character.

The MK8 deal was freaking larceny.

Edit:

Except when Nintendo decides to do it right, ala Hyrule Warriors/MK8/Mario Golf 3DS/NSLU where you end up with an amount of content near that of the base game, but for at least a minor, if not huge, relative discount to the RRP in terms of price/content.

Yeah, again, one is fair, one is an amazing deal. I don't complain that games are $60 (well, OK, I complain about CAD$80) because I can get them on Steam sales for $15 (though I know some people do!). There are plenty of times where I say a game isn't worth $60 to me, though. ;)

Looks pretty cool actually without grey spaces.

One of the worst stages in Smash history makes a return!

Aaand most likely to be one of the last two for this game.

Meh, I would prefer if they would reorder the characters based on series.

I like Peach's castle because it is a different layout without being a crazy hazard filled-scrolling-transforming stage. More like this would be ideal IMO.

Why can't we get hazard and boss toggles? The content we are getting great, but simple features need to be added as well.

They could still do Melee stages though. Like we're going to get an N64 stage wave with the two announced. And then maybe in the future a Melee or Brawl stage wave? I mean the sky is the limit on this. People will buy this stuff as long as they make it and the quality is good. It will print money.

You know, everyone says that Saffron City is a good stage and I always despised it. I never picked it and I am happy it isn't here. Fountain of Dream, I would like that even if it is just for the music.

Yup. Even if Sakurai doesn't want to, the money will talk.

The industry norm is too damn high then. I didn't buy any dlc for those games, I won't for this one at this rate.

It's by far the most expensive "major" dlc nintendos ever released for the amount of content you get. (And I'm using the word major there very loosely, since this is much more like the poor piecemeal offerings of Awakening/NSMB2/etc).

When comparing MK DLC prices to Smash it is important to remember that adding a character takese a lot of work.

At the same time I think we were spoiled by the low MK prices

Lol I can't believe people are both bitching about the pricing and comparing it to Mario Kart. Inserting a new fighter into any game requires lots more work than creating a racing track. From aligning hit boxes to make sure the character is balanced properly and so on. This is good pricing for DLC compared to what other companies offer.

You're probably right, they could easily have charged a bit more for MK8. Up to half RRP would have been totally expected!
But this isn't even close to the value you'd get if you took the rrp of the game and divided by even just the newcomers. It's much, much more than that, which is what I take massive issue with.

This is effectively like if the 16 mk8 dlc tracks cost £30+ total, and you can bet I would have been all keyboard warrior about that too.

I don't know.
Sakurai made it sound like the next two stages are it for stage dlc

Haven't gone through the thread but in the Japan and Euro streams did they give a release date for the 4 new Amiibos in those territories? Since they're getting Dr. Mario and others in July I wasn't sure if they got a September date as well.

*nods* I'm definitely tempering my expectations. After the next two stages, I'm expecting only the seven stage slots and six character slots to be filled.

I'll admit that nostalgia is part of why I like it, for sure.

If you like a level, that is fine. Everyone has different taste. I just never got why that level was so beloved. Especially for Ness if you fall in that narrow gap or Link. Died so many times in that area and curse that random Pokemon that blows you up.

5 bucks is the price of a fucking burger or burrito. It's cheaper than watching a movie. It's two gallons of gas. 5 bucks is nothing for something you can use as long as you want. Think about that next time yall are shoving some fast food combo down your gullet.

They obviously put in work, it's not a quick cash in. It boggles my mind that people think 5 bucks is too expensive

I guess Nintendo Ninjas went down hard on anyone who posted leaked content, wow.

Sakurai really was pissed.

Can you blame them? Although there were rumblings a while back, this would've been a huge surprise to start E3 for Nintendo. The newsis still big but they did lose some steam with the leak.
