The difference is "Dark Pit" actually very much is a separate character in the game he is from while Dark Link is supposed to be merely a reflection of Link himself.

Pitoo is actually his own character in Uprising, & a prominent one at that. He's basically everything Pit isn't, even though Pitoo isn't actually a bad guy. He basically subverts many of the "Dark Clone" tropes.

That's not a bias, it's simply because Meta Knight was revealed a coupe of days ago. Nintendo uploads a new batch of screenshots focused on the new characters a few days after revealing one.
