How can the sun be real if our eyes aren't real?
I forget, if we ever got sucked up in a black hole would we feel pain at all? Like our bodies being crushed or something? Or just straight up die and that's it...always imagined maybe black holes lead somewhere else...
How do you know we're not already inside a black hole? What if the gravity of the singularity is so strong it created a miniature pocket universe?
Open your eyes, people.
That is not a safe distance. It must be awe inspiring to know youre a few hundred kilometers from absolute annihilation.
That is not a safe distance.
Astronomers have found Kirby's insides.
From the event horizon.

lol I thought the same thing. Any science geeks want to tell us what a safe distance would be?That is not a safe distance.
I don't think that's a safe distance when normal black holes can swallow up light from neighboring stars. From the event horizon.
First it would suck up our atmosphere so we would just die from that. Also there is a theory that we're already past the event horizon. But who knows for sure. The myth I heard was that it would be a very slow & painful death.
That sucks.
Still not a safe distance, unless you're light.
How can you land on a hole...I'm starting to think we will never land on a black hole in my lifetime and it makes me sad.
Have you guys heard of celestial sink holes caused by the collapse dark matter scaffolding?
That's pretty dense.

thanks for the suggestion.Do you all have the Astronomy Pic of the Day app? Love it. Usually change my phone background to updates. Highly suggest.
On topic: that's a big fucking hole
look at that thing. sooo pretty
thanks for the suggestion.

Its not really a hole but extremely dense and heavy absorbed matter. Its also impossible for anything human to survive in. That shit absorbs entire galaxies. How can you land on a hole...

Many doubted we could land on the moon as well. People like you make me sick.
In perspective
more people should play around with Universe Sandbox 2
This makes me feel like nothing.

Is a black hole really a hole? I always thought it's just a really huge massive sphere like a plant or star but infinitely bigger and more massive. Can someone explains this to me? I don't understand the discussion about traveling through or being in a black hole.
Its not really a hole. Its usually formed when a giant star collapses on its own weight and all that matter is compressed into a tiny piece of well .. matter. Its just so dense and compressed not even light escapes it. Nobody really knows whats inside or at the center but its suggested that everything is piled into a singularity. Is a black hole really a hole? I never understood why space is not more popular with the general public. You literally have the craziest incomprehensible stuff out there.
