Lots of cut off heads already. Good episode confirmed.
I'm surprised how much gore they get away with week by week. I love it. Also dean needs smack the next person to imply he's washed up. Beating Satan should be worth a lifetime pass for a hunter.

I wonder if Crowley actually pulled Sam out of the cage. I don't really buy it, even if he is the "King of Hell." Unless its harder to pull Lucifer out of the cage.

If he is the ruler of hell I would hope it gives him that much power

Pretty good episode. They needed to make the alpha vamp look cooler. He's so plain and dull lame. I'm happy that this episodes end implies that Sam and Dean have to go take down a bunch of big bads. Let the slaying begin.

Am I the ONLY supernatural fan that hates Crowley?

Then why didn't Lilith or Yellow Eyes easily set Lucifer free? The whole conflict in season 4 was based on how hard it was to set Lucifer free from the cage.

Like I said, I'd be fine with it if it were easier to pull Sam out than Lucifer for some reason. Although that begs the question, why don't the angels let Michael free? Unless Crowley is some how more powerful than archangels, which I doubt.

I think a little too much was revealed but i guess they had to since I feel some of this could have been revealed earlier. It makes Bobby's episode that much more ironic though when you go back and rewatch everything. They had Crowley by the nuts and let him go.

Lucifer wasn't in hell, that cage was not a part of hell. At least thats what I thought anyway.

Yes, you are. Or at least that I have met.

I still want a Crowley/Castiel spin off. Or just cast Mark Sheppard and Misha Collins in a film version of "Good Omens."

Awesome episode. More Crowley is always a good thing - as long as he survives his inevitable defeat. And Dean and Sam should have guilted their grandfather about lying by telling him how they had Crowley under their thumb a few episodes back. Looking back, it was a huge missed opportunity.

Yes.

Another awesome episode, I genuinely dont see the twists coming. The alpha vamp is great, hope we see him again, along with whoever their "mother" is. Crowley came as a surprise, although Im not sure I buy him as being powerful enough to pull it off on his own. I remember Balthazar is episode three saying how they had no idea the power souls contain, but still.......

Still like to know what exactly Samuel is trying to do

Great episode. It definitely moved the season in the right direction and gave it purpose.

It'll be interesting to see who the "mother" of the alphas are. Is it the same being?

It could be where they're keeping his daughter's soul... or something like that.

It would make sense. She's not in heaven, i highly doubt she's in hell. So purgatory makes sense. The question is, why would she be in purgatory to begin with? And i bet samuel has something to do with it

I think her soul is in hell. She did make a deal with Azazel, after all. Most likely the reason why gramps is working with Crowley. Capture Alphas in exchange for her soul.

Now someone explain to me why the King of Hell can't go wrassle up some alphas on his own with all his super duper mojo.

Gotta keep the boys back in hell in line. Can't get away/be too distracted for long.

At the CW, Smallville (1.1/4, 2.6 million) was down a bit while Supernatural (1.1/4, 2.4 million) was on par.

Ratings are staying consistent. Good sign. Hopefully the cast is still enjoying themselves and they give us a 7th season.

Last night's episode was fantastic though. Great moving of the mythology and giving us just enough answers to keep us hooked.

Argh, really frustrating episode. I was thinking how great it was going to be to have an actual mystery plotline for the rest of the season as they try to figure out what Samuel is doing while balancing the tension between Dean and Sam.

Then not only do they reveal the mystery employer right away, to add insult to injury it's a character we've already dealt with over and over. Just when I thought they were leaving the demon antagonist plotline behind, they turn around and recycle it yet again.

.

I think it'll be Lilith, she's the mother of monsters in God-based religions.

I just wonder if they planned this as a single season arc since it is assumed this is the final season, or if they have a backup plan to stretch it across seasons if they decide to do more.

I have been under the impression from interviews and such that the show will continue as long as the cast wants to, because the ratings are steady enough on the show that I am not worried about it getting canned without notice.

I'd rather, if they insist that the show must go on, that they did season-by-season arcs instead.

What I would really like to see, though I'm sure the budget wouldn't be there for it, is for the brothers to spend a season on a different continent, like Europe. Fighting European monsters. That would be neat.

Ackles and Jensen have renewed contracts up to at least a 7th season. I imagine this storyarc being at least two seasons.

Possibly. The "mother" could also predate the ascension of the Judeo Christian God among the various pantheons tho.

That aside, there are other possible sourced even within the heaven hell God framework. Book of Jubilees also had a lotta giants spawned from humans and angels getting busy... God himself originally had a wife etc.

He should've been, but remember that he is/was being injected dead men's blood

Because of the seals, it is never mentioned whether the seals were restored or not, making it far easier to access the cage.

Not only that, but there could also be more to the Horsemen's rings, we don't even know how they work! What if Crowley got a hold of them?

Well, Kings don't tend to fight their own battles.

Also, given that the supernatural creatures don't belong to heaven nor hell, what if they are undetectable to angels and demons? it would not only explain why Crowley doesn't get them on his own, but also why Castiel doesn't help them out.

Yah, I was hoping they would do that after the whole Lucifer arc, but then when they had this whole "monsters appearing outside of their zone" thing, I was like "goddamnit! they found a way to get away with it!" :lol

But man, I want them to fight Vampires in Siberia and ancestral gods in Mali and baby-eating dingos in Australia. :(

Finally caught up on 4 weeks worth of missed Supernatural episodes! I really liked the latest ep, I'm glad to see that this season is actually going somewhere. Crowley as the villain is a nice touch, especially seeing how pathetic he looked in Weekend at Bobby's. I'm finally starting to get into this season!

The Sam thing is so very Buffy season 6.

This whole season still feels like a side story more than a continuation of season 5.

You'd sell your brother for a dollar now if you really needed a soda!
:lol God, I absolutely love the writing in this show :lol

Eh. Mediocre episode. The ending scene with Sam was great though.

Wonderful line, and as always delivered wonderfully by Mark Sheppard.

Decent episode. Not great, not terrible. But at least it is moving forward some. And it was interesting seeing Sam as the cold douche bag.

Ratings were down.

Meanwhile, Teri Hatcher's guest spot on Smallville as Lois Lane's mom gave the departing comic book drama (1.3/4, 3 million) a boost to a tie the season high 18-49 number it hit with its season premiere and 200th episode. Smallville was up 18% from last week in the demo, while Supernatural (0.9/3, 2.1 million) was down 18%.
