Supreme Commander Screens (360) lolz

I based it on how many units were on screen in the these screenshots. Their probably are a lot more on the PC version, but their won't be nearly that many due to both the controls, and the apparent technical limitation.

STOP FUCKING SAYING "THEIR"

"Have you even played SupCom?"

Of course he hasn't.
No, I haven't played it. However, I am well aware of all the technical acclaim this game has garnered. That being said, I am basing my comments on the engine based on the screenshots. Also the engine can be a shitty engine with good graphics. What I mean by that is the engine may be poorly optimized, which would be a cause of the shitty graphics, or it could just be a sloppy port job.

Or it could just be the inferior hardware.

Just sayin.

It's not the engines fault the 360 has 512mb RAM is it?

Graphics remind me of this

Good old times :/

Fucking shame what they did with that game. I still play that one now, even with those graphics the game is enjoyable.

True. But do you honestly believe that is the best they can get the game running on the 360? I sure as hell don't.
Considering the amount of units the game needs to take so it wont ruin the gameplay/balance, yes, yes I do.

The guys behind this (hellbent games) are pretty good people. Trust that it will be fine and that the controls will make the game manageable.

RTS on console? pass

Ironic considering they started on consoles.

I think if they want to have the same scale as the PC game....yes.

These screenshots have instilled a great deal of trust in the fine people working on this port.

What game is that?
Supreme Commander has the worst mech designs in the history of ever.
Seriously.

Yeah put me in the "why even bother" department. A half assed port of supcom on 360 is not what it needs, they should take the themes and general idea and simply build a game for consoles. Course anything that would run well enough on the 360 likely would lose alot of what makes supcom the game that it is.

those robots look like something i would have drawn when i was 4.
SupCom doesn't catch enough flak for having some of the most hilarious bad art in a long time.

Ouch. Supreme Commander on the 360 was doomed to begin with. I wouldn't be suprised if they would introduce a low unit cap, or take the 81x81 maps out. They are unplayable on my 2048MB machine, I don't want to see how they run on 512.

You're usually controlling them in the hundreds, so it doesn't really matter if the tier 1 units look a little rough around the edges. The superweapons look decent enough.

they must be using all of Xenon's CPU power and most of Xeno's GPGPU power for A.I. and just basicly sub Xbox1 amounts of power for the visuals.

SupCom GAMEPLAY will rule

maybe

Actually, I spend most of the time zoomed out so much they are nothing but icons. Makes you wonder if the shiny graphics are really worth it.

With a gamepad? You have too many units for good micro, so it is probably more playable than Starcraft 2 would be, but it will still be extremely painful if you ever played RTS with proper controls.

Sup Com has things like automatic factory queues, automatic transport points, auto base repairing, etc. so there is actually less micro than a traditional RTS. I'm pretty sure World in Conflict has the most clicks per minute in an RTS, and that is perfectly playable with a gamepad.

:lol Wow the PC Defense Force came out in full for this one! All we need is Borys and we've got the whole crew.

I don't care what you guys say, if that's the best they can do on 360 something has gone horribly wrong. I don't care about "but lots of units, lots of complex thingamajigs, 360 only 512mb memory lulz", it SHOULD look a lot better, as you can hardly directly compare console hardware to a PC.

Considering the thread topic, I'd LOVE to see exactly what it is that we need to defend ourselves from.

Problem is... "lots of units" is an understatement.

Supreme commander is NOT for the console crowd.

what the hell were they thinking porting a super geek PC RTS that takes nearly one whole day to do one mission.

Why would they even bother to release this garbage on a console? It certainly can't be in hopes of turning a profit. Halo Wars is the only RTS that will sell to the 360 crowd.

SupCom chews up CPUs and RAM like Crysis devours GPUs. There is no plausible scenario in which the 360 could run it anywhere close to as well as a high end PC.
