SW - The Old Republic Trailers Are Still Unmatched

Tag, you're it.

Characters with incredible charisma, sick fight scenes, total respect for the universe and a trailer that has more storytelling in a few minutes than an entire film trilogy.

That's it, I just wanted to remind you that SW can be so good. Not just meh or ok, but truly amazing.

As Im replaying The Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor, it kinda put me in the mood to replay some SWTOR, but last time I tried I got so bored because the gameplay has been turned into a baby-level difficulty. It's so fucking easy, even a fucking ant can easily go through it. Maybe I'll just rush it for the story, never played the expansions past the Revan one.

I've seen all of these, and the are exactly what Star Wars should be. They completley blow everything Disney has done out of the water, and honestly, the Prequels as well.

Like seriously, these videos will make you mad at how badly Disney has treated the franchise.

This was the first game I ever worked on. When you see Twi'lek strutting about, know that often those are the hips of Romancedawn. A man.
Turns out those hips did lied, after all

This and the Lord of the Rings MMO were the only ones that ever interested me, but in general I don't play MMO's. I loved KOTOR, so if it was like that I imagine it was a pretty good game. Is it still playable?

Those short trailers are miles better than the Disney sequel trilogy.

As if I needed a reminder on how badly Disney fucked up Star Wars 😭

I played the game at launch. Got a bounty hunter and a sith assassin to max level, then kind of lost interest in the game.

The dungeons and pvp didn't feel as good as wow, but the rest was good.

I watch those whenever I want to remind myself why I love SW. Disney have done their best to make me forget.

Yeah these were awesome. Watching them now almost feels like getting a glimpse at an alternate dimension where Disney didn't ruin the IP.

These twins have a more compelling story arc in 4 minutes than literally anyone in the entire sequel trilogy lol.

Thank you for the work you put in. I played the shit out of it at launch, still have my collector's edition displayed in my living room. Will always have fond memories of my absurd light side Sith warrior.

I loved the hell out of this game at launch. I stopped playing because I burned out on it, but could never get back into no matter how had i tried. wish i never stopped.

There is something innately "Star Wars"y about these trailers that none of the sequels ever gave me. The sequels always felt like bad fan fiction.

In my mind, I can see the events here happen in the same universe and continuity as the original series. I can never accept the events of the sequel as being part of the same continuity as the original series, they just don't match at all.

As someone who always played Sith this one is also awesome.

This was the first thing we shot doing motion capture. It was kind of a test if I remember correctly. Like if we can make this look nice they can present it to Lucas and then maybe something more can be approved. I forget but so many of us were/are big Star Wars fans and wanted make the Jedi/Sith arts as epic as possible. The director and animators also trusted us wushu and stunt guys to make the martial arts as authentic as possible. We were given direction but had a decent amount of free rein if I remember correctly. I remember being at Comicon when this debuted and the reception was so good. I've got some behind the scenes pictures let me find em.
